Your access to healthy food shouldn’t depend on your ZIP code.

Last year, 47.4 million people in the U.S., including 7.2 million children, lived in food insecure households. Food insecurity doesn’t always mean there’s no food. It often means fresh, nutritious food is too expensive, too far away, or simply out of reach.

What if communities could build part of the solution themselves?

That’s why we started 1Acre Project.

We’re building a network that connects community gardens through technology, making it easier to track harvests, measure impact, reduce food waste, coordinate volunteers, and help more fresh food reach the people who need it.

Food access is a systems challenge. We believe communities can be part of the solution.

Calling creators from around the world. 🌎🌱

We’re building more than a nonprofit.

We’re building a movement around one thing every person on Earth has in common.

Food.

Whether you grow it, cook it, teach it, study it, or advocate for better food systems, we’d love to feature your work.

We’re looking for creators in:

🌱 Gardening & Farming
🥕 Food & Cooking
🌍 Food Access & Food Justice
♻️ Sustainability & Composting
🍎 Nutrition & Healthy Living
👩‍🌾 Community Gardens
📚 Food Education

Our vision is to create a global network of creators sharing ideas, stories, recipes, growing tips, research, and solutions that inspire healthier communities.

No matter where you live, food connects us.

If you’d like to collaborate with 1Acre Project, we’d love to hear from you.

Grow food. Grow freedom. 🌱

What if every neighborhood had a place to grow fresh food, learn practical skills, meet their neighbors, and build a stronger local community?

That's the future we're building at 1Acre Project.

We help communities create new gardens while connecting existing community gardens into one technology-powered network. By tracking harvests, volunteer hours, food donations, environmental impact, and local partnerships, we're making it easier for communities, businesses, nonprofits, and sponsors to work together around one shared mission: growing more food, reducing waste, and improving food access.

Why eating in season actually matters:

It tastes better
Food picked when it’s supposed to be is riper, fresher, and not traveling across the world to get to you.

More nutrients
Produce starts losing nutrients the longer it sits. In-season = less time in storage, more actual value.

Usually cheaper
When something is in season, there’s more of it. More supply = lower prices.

Supports local farms
You’re putting money back into your local food system instead of imported supply chains.

Less waste + lower impact
Shorter transport, less refrigeration, less spoilage. It’s just more efficient.

You eat more variety
Instead of the same rotation all year, you naturally switch things up and get a wider range of nutrients.

It reconnects you to what you’re eating
You start to notice what grows when, what your area produces, and what real food cycles look like.

It’s not complicated.
Better food, better price, better system.

companion planting is one of the simplest ways to grow smarter, not harder

certain plants naturally protect each other, repel pests, improve soil, and boost growth just by being planted side by side

no chemicals, no extra cost, just understanding how nature already works

this is how small gardens become powerful
this is how we grow more food with less
this is how we start doing things differently 🌱
