Check your emails to sign up for research and presenting topics for our upcoming Street Law Clinic with Legal Aid at Thistle Farms. This month we will be covering Credit Card Debt, Discharge, and Family Law Issues.

Let us know if you're interested in participating, all research needs to be completed by April 22 and the presentation will be held in Nashville on April 25th at 4pm.

Students will partner with volunteer lawyers to answer legal questions from the community, and the Clinic will be held at NSL this upcoming Tuesday, March 25th. This Monday, February 24th we will host Free Hearts for our Monthly Meeting to discuss "Movement Lawyering" and how students can work to use their future status as lawyers to drive positive change in their communities.

Free Hearts is an organization led by formerly incarcerated women that provides support, education, and advocacy in organizing families impacted by incarceration, with the ultimate goals of reuniting families and keeping families together.

Tonight at 5:45pm is our first Legal Aid meeting of the year, with special guest Assistant US Attorney Brooke Shiferle.

Ms. Shiferle works in Human Trafficking and S*x Crime Prosecution, and is currently the president elect of the Thistle Farms Board. She will be joining us to discuss her work and upcoming clinic opportunities — including our annual presentation series with the women of Thistle Farms.
