Momentum Dance Company Vanderbilt University's Momentum Dance Company

Momentum Dance Company is Vanderbilt’s first student-run dance performance group and includes members coming from a variety of artistic backgrounds, ranging from classical ballet studios to competition troupes. Momentum produces two full-length shows each year containing contemporary, lyrical, ballet, pointe, jazz, and hip-hop pieces choreographed, directed, and performed by undergraduate company

members. The company also engages in a variety of community outreach projects and performs at various campus and philanthropic events. Momentum works to make dance more accessible to the general public in an effort to provide a challenging and exciting experience for its dancers as well as a fulfilling and high quality performance for its audiences. The company fosters a sense of genuine emotionality, innovative storytelling, and raw passion for movement, striving to further enrich Vanderbilt and Nashville with meaningful art.
