Jessica, RN just returned from very impactful medical mission trip to Honduras with Compassion International. Read her reflection below!🇭🇳

“God is so good! I was blessed to attend a mission trip to Honduras this year! My team was 52 strong and represented multiple churches from North Louisiana. We were stationed in the small village of Cuyali in Honduras. There we were able to put a new roof on a church, visit 74 homes and distribute 850 pounds of rice and beans, evaluate 1,399 patients in our clinic, provide almost 6000 prescriptions, pass out 480 Spanish bibles, provide vet care and vaccines to 495 animals, distribute 1200 pairs of shoes and over 3000 articles of clothing, and 550 goodie bags to children. Through all of these missions we were able to share the gospel and had 106 declare the Lord as their personal savior and accept the free gift of salvation. Serving is always an amazing and humbling experience. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside my husband, friends and church members. The people of Cuyali blessed us as much as we hope we blessed them! God continues to amaze me in how He provides and how He grows my faith through the opportunities He has blessed me with.”

What an absolute honor and pleasure to speak at Black Tie Gala at on an incredibly beautiful evening overlooking the African exhibit! We believe in what they’re doing with medical missions around the world and are grateful to lock arms alongside them to better the Kingdom✨

Thank you for having us, and we look forward to helping send skilled healthcare workers on medical missions who have that heart and desire to serve…but are struggling to come up with the cost. We are here to help make that call to serve possible!

Since 2018, Upward Twist has had the privilege of helping fund and send medical professionals on mission trips across the world, answering a call to bring compassionate care to communities in need. What began as a step of faith has grown into a global effort — supporting doctors, nurses, and medical teams as they serve with skill, humility, and love in places where access to care is limited.

This month marks a powerful milestone: with teams returning from Cuba and new teams preparing to serve in Kenya, Upward Twist has officially helped support over 100 medical missionaries since its founding. Each number represents a willing heart, countless patients served, and a shared commitment to turning faith into action. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has prayed, given, and believed alongside us — this impact is only possible together.

There is something so beautiful about simply singing for the Lord — no stage, no spotlight, just pure worship from the heart. 🤍

Today in Africa, we were so deeply moved by these incredible voices lifted up in praise. The joy, the faith, the freedom in their worship — it was unforgettable. We couldn’t keep it to ourselves.

We just had to share a glimpse of it with you all. May it bless you the way it blessed us.

Sending out tax documents today and feeling so overwhelmed with gratitude 🤍

A huge thank you to every single person who has given. Because of your generosity, we were able to send 36 people on medical missions around the world and help impact over 56,000 lives. None of this would be possible without you.

Every gift represents lives impacted, prayers answered, and faith in what God is doing through Upward Twist.

Who is someone in your life you’re deeply proud of —
someone serving faithfully, sacrificing quietly,
showing up where the need is great…
yet rarely stopping to recognize the impact they’re making?

This post is for them.
And maybe — it’s for you too.

Scripture reminds us, “Encourage one another daily” (Hebrews 3:13).
Not when it’s easy. Not when it’s visible.
But daily — especially for those pouring themselves out for others.

So many medical professionals on mission trips serve without applause.
Long hours. Limited resources. Heavy burdens.
Yet every act of care, every prayer whispered, every life touched
is seen by heaven.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good” (Galatians 6:9).
What God is doing through your hands and through your obedience matters more than you know.

At Upward Twist, we believe encouragement is ministry.
Supporting those who serve is sacred work.
When we lift others UPWARD, we create a ripple that moves ONWARD — bringing healing, hope, and the love of Christ to the nations.

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Tag a medical professional.
Share this with someone serving on mission.
Partner with us as we lift them UPWARD so they can continue the work God has called them ONWARD.

Give your people their flowers today 🤍
This is the Upward Twist.

✨ Reflection from Katie Chopp, RN✨
Katie recently traveled deep into the Amazon jungle as part of a medical and evangelism team, serving remote villages with compassion, care, and faith. Her experience is a powerful reminder that love, service, and the Gospel transcend language, distance, and comfort zones. Here’s Katie’s reflection from a trip that truly changed lives—hers included:

“A trip to last a lifetime. I had the opportunity to join a group of medical professionals and evangelism members to provide medical aid to remote villages in the Amazon jungle. Over 500 people received medical attention and supplies, which are often scarce in their remote location. Each day, the team would gather and take a 30-45 minute boat ride to a different village along the river. The rainy season had just ended, so the river was high, and most of the villages were so flooded that dry ground could not even be seen. Makeshift bridges were made to cross from building to building by lining up boats to walk over “dry ground.”

I worked in triage, obtaining vitals and gathering details about each patient. I learned that even though I may not understand the language, I can offer a smile and show a caring heart. The people were so genuine and grateful for even the simplest kind of help. The children were joyful, playing with a soccer ball, barefoot, with torn clothes.

I’m reminded that the same God I serve at home is the same God they serve in the jungle. I’m grateful to be reminded of the importance of showing others the love of Christ and the gospel, even if it’s hard at times. This was a beautiful trip that was full of God providing and delivering.”
