Topic: Religion and Spiritual Well-being

July 4 th 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence as the basis for the oldest and most unique government form of a Constitutional Republic. The Constitution’s concept that citizens can govern themselves
is a daring political experiment grounded in the Judeo-Christian doctrine of covenant which the Founding Fathers envisioned for the new nation. Members of the U.S. Armed Forces are defined by their oath to “support and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic…” Military culture brings demanding challenges testing the spiritual resolve of those in uniform. Developing spiritual resiliency through religious practice equips Servicemembers and their families to successfully navigate the
exigencies of military life.
