Therapists know this moment well.

It’s the last minute of a session when a client says something that changes everything.

You want to stay with it. You want to help them unpack it with care.

But instead, you have to say: “Let’s start here next time.” And hope there is a next time.

For many clients, that depends on cost.

Truth rarely comes out all at once.

Sometimes, it comes at the very end of a session, in a “doorknob confession.” The client gets ready to leave and says:

“So, anyway…my dad’s in the hospital.”
“…I started drinking again.”
“…I haven’t slept in days.”

Insight’s Compassion Circle members give someone the chance to keep going.
