Well alrighty - thank you all for joining us yesterday for another great program at Tennessee State Museum- kudos to the team at the museum for making us all feel welcome again this year!

We enjoyed a great set of familiar tunes celebrating 'America 250', from Richard Wineland on vocals and guitar, Lee Armstrong Wineland on piano, Amberly Rosen on fiddle, and Roy Vogt on bass. This remarkably talented bunch were an absolute delight!

"I thought that this was one of the best groups that you have ever had in a few years of coming to your events. Big crowd, great participation, some dance, some clap, some sung with the music." says one of the attendees, Richard S.

Dancing, singing, connection - music is joy!

For many older adults - particularly those living with memory loss, mobility challenges, or social isolation - the world can feel increasingly small. Structured programs provide stability, but they rarely spark the spontaneous joy that reminds people they are seen, known, and loved. That is where our Musician Partners shine.

Kathleen Ode of Sunny Day Club describes our Musician Partner Emily Kidd this way: "She is a talented musician, but more than that, she is an empathetic performer who responds positively to her audience." Emily arrived early, eased into the group's opening circle, and took song requests - small gestures that tell participants their voices matter. As Kathleen notes, "She chats with us in such a comfortable way that it makes us feel like we are all old friends." That sense of belonging is what makes it so special.

Every visit is more than a concert - it's a shared experience woven into the fabric of the communities we serve. As Kathleen puts it: "Emily is so loving to our folks. Everyone loves it when she comes to Sunny Day." When a room full of people who might otherwise sit in silence instead sings together, laughs together, and leaves a little lighter - that's the good stuff.

Emily Kidd always brings joy to our mornings.

We enjoyed a spectacular set from Connye Florance and her band - Kevin Madill on piano, Brian Allen on bass, and Marcus Finnie on drums - at Cheekwood this week!

The set included a wide variety of crowd favorites and standards prompting a well deserved standing ovation to close it out!

Many thanks to everyone that made it out for our Free Daytime Concert Series, presented by Centerwell - and extra 'thank yous' to Emily Kidd and her team at Cheekwood, Ben Bridges for help making it sound great and of course our friends at AFM 257 and Tennessee Arts Commission for the additional support.

We hope to see you all again real soon!
