A tree is more than a tree. It can make a neighborhood safer, healthier, and more connected.

In our conversation with Jason Sprouls, Urban Waters Division Manager at the Cumberland River Compact, we talked about the real benefits trees bring to our communities. From helping reduce accidents to lowering neighborhood temperatures and improving air quality, tree canopy is an important part of building places where people can thrive.

The Village’s impact lives in the relationships we strengthen, the leaders we support, the collaborations we nurture, and the possibilities our community creates together.
This spring, we developed our Ecological Impact Model to identify and formalize what our community has taught us about how lasting change grows. The model guides how we invest our time, resources, and relationships through four interconnected pillars: Healing, Liberation, Collaboration, and Liberation.

Through the program, Timothy will spend the year learning alongside leaders from across sectors, exploring the opportunities and challenges shaping Nashville, and building relationships that strengthen collaborative leadership across our city.

August is packed with incredible events happening right here in Nashville, and we want to make sure you know about all of them. From art markets and back to school drives to retreats, showcases, and community gatherings, there is something for everyone this month.
