Wings Of Courage update !! 📣
Our New Name!!
I’m so happy to announce that we have adopted a new name to go along with our new mission! We will now start to operate under the name “Joseph’s Table” !!
We are still going to be primarily assisting victims of domestic/sexual violence but we are gearing up to launch our new initiatives soon! There will be plenty of changes happening over the next couple of years as we adopt our new name, programs and mission!
Our new mission is: to provide assistance and relief to victims of violence, war, natural disasters, poverty, and those suffering from illness and disabilities throughout the world.
Joseph is a biblical character who helped Egypt survive a famine in the land and his story relates to the meaning behind our new mission! Here is some backstory on his character that relates to why we chose the name “Joseph’s Table” for our new mission!
The story of Joseph (Genesis 37–50) follows the favored son of Jacob, sold into slavery by jealous brothers, who rises from prisoner to become the second most powerful man in Egypt. Through divine providence, he interprets Pharaoh's dreams, survives slavery and unjust imprisonment, saves Egypt from famine, and ultimately reconciles with his family, sparing them from hunger.
Through interpreting Pharaoh's dreams, he predicted a seven-year famine and managed food storage, eventually saving Egypt and his own family from starvation.
After interpreting Pharaoh's dreams, he was appointed to rule over all the land, managing the economy and grain storage during a severe famine, making him the most powerful person under the Pharaoh.
He held immense authority, second only to the Pharaoh. The Pharaoh stated that only concerning the throne would he be greater than Joseph. Pharaoh gave Joseph his ring, royal clothing, a gold necklace, and the second royal chariot to signify his authority.
He forgave his brothers for what they did to him, famously stating that what they intended for evil, God used for good.
Genesis 43:33-34
33 The men had been seated before him in the order of their ages, from the firstborn to the youngest; and they looked at each other in astonishment. 34 When portions were served to them from Joseph's table, Benjamin's portion was five times as much as anyone else's. So they feasted and drank freely with him.
Now as an International Relief Organization, Joseph’s Table will proudly serve those in need throughout the world!
