Nashville Dolphins The Nashville Dolphins is an aquatics program for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Programs are free to all thanks to community support!

It is the Nashville Dolphins' mission to combat the alarming statistics of drowning deaths in children and adults with special needs. We provide FREE, lifelong, water safety and comprehensive adaptive aquatic programming for the special needs' community. Our participants are empowered to experience the joy and pride of being a lifetime member of the Nashville Dolphins team at no cost. We strive to

enhance the quality and safety of the daily lives for both our participants and their family members by delivering comprehensive adaptive aquatic programs within a safe and socially supportive community environment. The Dolphins welcomes volunteers (in and out of the water) at any of our swim practices, classes, or social activities. No experience is necessary, just a kind heart and a willingness to learn. Volunteering with our swimmers will be one of the most rewarding, fun experiences you've ever done. Looking back on some of our favorite moments from an incredible summer!

One highlight we’re especially proud of: Gabby, Delaney, and Josh representing Special Olympics Tennessee at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis! 🏊‍♀️✨

We were also so proud to have our Lead Instructor, Brooke, there as a coach for Team Tennessee Swimming, supporting and encouraging athletes throughout the competition.

Congratulations to Gabby, Delaney, Josh, and Brooke! Seeing our Dolphins on the national stage was a pretty special moment, and we couldn’t be prouder. 💙🐬

Behind every Nashville Dolphins success story is an incredible community of volunteers who help make it all possible!

This summer, dozens of volunteers gave their time and talents to support our swimmers at practices, competitions, and special events. From cheering swimmers on from the pool deck to lending a hand behind the scenes, their encouragement and dedication made a lasting impact.

We’re especially grateful to our friends from National Charity League, Inc., Greater Nashville Chapter and YMSL Nashville for showing up throughout the summer with so much enthusiasm and compassion! 💙🐬

Grown-Up Swimming has been making waves this summer! 🐬💙

Our adult swimmers, made up of Nashville Dolphins athletes, parents, volunteers, and friends, have been bringing the energy to the pool all season long.

So far we've:
🥈 Placed 2nd at our first meet
🥇 Took 1st Place at our second meet at Westhaven

We couldn't be more proud of this team and the community that's formed around it. Whether you're swimming your first race in years or cheering from the sidelines, Grown-Up Swim League is all about having fun and proving that you're never too old to jump in.
