Students are asking thoughtful questions about how finance can drive both returns and responsibility.

โ™ป๏ธ A strong shoutout to SF Climate Week for advancing these important conversations, and to Financial Women of San Francisco for supporting meaningful engagement with our students. Great event earlier this week, The Evolution of Sustainable Investing with CAPTRUST.

๐ŸŒฑ Access to these perspectives matters. It helps students see the full scope of opportunity in finance and the impact they can have.

๐Ÿš€ Celebrating International Womenโ€™s Day with an inspiring Rock The Street, Wall Street Insight Session at Morgan Stanleyโ€™s New York headquarters, the event featured an exciting trading floor tour, a career panel, speed networking and keynote reflections that brought the day together.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ A special thank you to Penny Novick, Managing Director and Co-Head of Prime Brokerage and an RTSWS Board Member, for opening the session with thoughtful guidance for our students. Penny encouraged the cohort to be bold and ambitious, work hard and make an impact, while also remembering the importance of collaboration, confidence, and humility. She also congratulated the RTSWS students on their hard work and thanked them for their perseverance.

๐ŸŽ“ The session closed with powerful remarks from Samuel P. Lalanne, Managing Director and Chief Diversity Officer, who spoke about the importance of colleagues, community, and clients. Sam also shared a personal reflection that resonated with the room. As a first-generation American and the first in his family to attend a four-year college, he had little sense in high school of what a career on Wall Street could look like. An economics class opened his eyes to the possibilities and set him on a path driven by curiosity and questions about networks, mentors, and next steps.

โœจ RTSWS teams, industry leaders, and volunteers bring financial and investment fundamentals to life, opening doors to the industry while connecting students with peers and professionals who help expand their view of what is possible. As both Sam and Penny emphasized, teamwork is essential, and success is built through a focus on colleagues, community, and clients.

๐Ÿ’™ A big thank you to the leaders and volunteers who made the day possible, and especially to our incredible co-chairs Lara P., Emma Keegan, and Sha'Quanna Brown. Their involvement began as volunteer roles and has grown into leadership within the program, a wonderful example of mentorship and collaboration in action.

๐Ÿ“ฃ Big shoutout to Rock The Street, Wall Street Board Member Gretchen Flicker, CFA! During Womenโ€™s History Month, we were delighted that Gretchen joined the IWD panel, Give to Gain: Advancing Women, Opening Doors, hosted by CFA Society San Francisco, Women in ETFs and Capital Group.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Alongside Hui-Chien Chang, CFA (Google), Roz Hongsaranagon (Capital Group), and Cinthia Murphy (VettaFi), Gretchen shared insights on building careers in asset management, the power of mentorship and the importance of opening pathways for the next generation of women entering finance.

๐ŸŽ“ A strong example of access in action. Conversations like these help students and early career professionals build the perspective, connections and confidence to move forward.

๐Ÿ“Š Thank you to the organizers and partners for bringing this event together and for your continued support in expanding access across the financial services industry.

๐Ÿ“š At RTSWS, we are proud to help students on their journey from classrooms to careers.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Rock The Street, Wall Street was delighted to host a powerful event at Mount Holyoke College, welcoming participants from both Mount Holyoke and Smith College for a meaningful conversation.

๐Ÿ“Š Driven young women engaged directly with industry professionals who offered practical insight, candid guidance and real-world perspective. These exchanges help demystify the financial industry and reinforce leadership pathways.

๐Ÿ“š Across both colleges, one message stood out: access matters. When students are equipped with strong foundations, supportive cohorts and real industry insight, confidence grows and pathways expand. Moments like these highlight how intentional access and mentorship help build the next generation of leaders.

โœจ We are especially grateful to the talented students who showed up ready to learn and to Stephanie Hockman, who shared her perspective and experience with candor and insight.
