Today we celebrated our incredible teachers and staff for achieving a Level 5 ranking—the highest possible designation for student academic growth! 🎉👏

We honored them with a PTO-sponsored lunch from Roy Meat Service (it was a big hit). Every teacher and staff member received a self-care gift, generously provided by Symmetry Counseling, LLC.

This is what community looks like—lifting each other up, celebrating hard work, and showing gratitude for the people who make such a difference every day. ❤️✨

¡Hoy celebramos a nuestros increíbles maestros y personal por haber alcanzado una clasificación de Nivel 5—la designación más alta posible para el crecimiento académico de los estudiantes! 🎉👏

Los celebramos con un almuerzo patrocinado por el PTO de Roy Meat Service (¡fue todo un éxito!) y cada maestro y miembro del personal recibió un regalo de autocuidado, generosamente proporcionado por Symmetry Counseling, LLC.

Hispanic Heritage Celebration was so fun and delicious.

¡ La Celebración de la Herencia Hispana fue divertida y muy deliciosa!

Families shared delicious food and Uptown Fruit Market donated carne asada, chicken and chorizo that was amazing!

United Volunteers of Tennessee (UVOTN) provided safety for our families as we celebrated! It’s a sad reality that we even had to consider that.

Este jueves 17 de abril a las 7:30 a. m., nos reuniremos frente a la escuela para una caminata pacífica y solidarizarnos con nuestros estudiantes y entre nosotros.

Este es un momento para unirnos como comunidad (familias, estudiantes, educadores y personal) y demostrar que Shwab es un lugar donde cada niño es visto, apoyado y celebrado. Mientras se debate una legislación perjudicial a nivel estatal —que podría negar a los estudiantes indocumentados el acceso a la educación pública— tenemos la oportunidad de expresar nuestra presencia.

Creemos que todos los niños merecen sentirse seguros y bienvenidos en la escuela, sin importar su origen o estatus migratorio. Al unirnos en amor y unidad, enviamos un mensaje claro y hermoso: Shwab es una escuela donde todos pertenecen.

Esta es una celebración de la comunidad. Es un momento para recordarles a nuestros niños, y a nosotros mismos, que somos más fuertes cuando nos mantenemos unidos. Traigan sus pancartas, su café, sus amigos y sus corazones. Demostremos a nuestros estudiantes cómo se ve el amor en acción. Tendré papel y marcadores si no tienen tiempo de hacer un cartel con antelación.

Esperamos que nos acompañen el jueves por la mañana para promover los valores que hacen especial a nuestra escuela: inclusión, unidad, compasión y cuidado de todos.

This Thursday, April 17th at 7:30 AM, we’ll be meeting in front of the school for a peaceful walk-in to stand in solidarity with our students and one another.

This is a moment for us to come together as a community—families, students, educators, and staff—to show that Shwab is a place where every child is seen, supported, and celebrated. As harmful legislation is being debated at the state level—legislation that could deny undocumented students access to a public education—we have an opportunity to speak with our presence.

We believe every child deserves to feel safe and welcome at school, no matter their background or immigration status. By joining together in love and unity, we send a clear and beautiful message: Shwab is a school where everyone belongs.

This is a celebration of community. It’s a moment to remind our children, and each other, that we are stronger when we stand together. Bring your signs, your coffee, your friends, and your hearts. Let’s show our students what love in action looks like. I will have paper and markers if you don't have time to make a sign beforehand.

We hope you’ll join us Thursday morning as we lift up the values that make our school special—inclusion, unity, compassion, and care for all.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Black History Month Celebration! It was an incredible event, and we’re so grateful to our community for making it so special.

A special shoutout to the 1st and 2nd graders and Ms. Wink for their amazing performance—it was truly wonderful!

We also want to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who donated food. The wings and mac & cheese from were a hit—thank you! generously provided their delicious salads and breadsticks, and Ms. Bolling’s greens were outstanding. , we appreciate the sandwiches and veggie trays!

And of course, a big thank you to our PTO members who brought desserts, side dishes, drinks, and more. Your support made this event possible, and we couldn’t have done it without you! ❤️

Last but not least, thank you to 615 Soul Line Dance for the dance class and the FUN!

¡Muchísimas gracias a todos los que nos acompañaron en la celebración del Mes de la Historia Afroamericana! Fue un evento increíble y estamos muy agradecidos con nuestra comunidad por hacerlo tan especial.

Un agradecimiento especial a los alumnos de 1.º y 2.º grado y a la Sra. Wink por su increíble actuación: ¡fue realmente maravilloso!

También queremos extender un ENORME agradecimiento a todos los que donaron alimentos. Las alitas y los macarrones con queso de fueron un éxito, ¡gracias! proporcionó generosamente sus deliciosas ensaladas y palitos de pan, y las verduras de la Sra. Bolling fueron excepcionales. , ¡apreciamos los sándwiches y las bandejas de verduras!

Join us this Thursday from 5-6:30 for a celebration of Black History. Our First and Second Graders will perform their musical program. We will also have dancing, games, and a community meal!
