Many thanks to Dr. Stephanie Bradley and Ms. Indira Dammu from the Nashville Davidson County Mayor's Office for joining us for this month's Greater Nashville Health Disparities Coalition meeting.

Both Dr. Bradley and Indira shared a clear commitment to staying in touch with Nashville residents and using community feedback to inform initiatives like Choose How You Move—the city's efforts to expand transportation options and encourage safe use of transit across Nashville.

Transportation comes up often in conversations about health and well-being because being able to get where you need to go, whether to work, school, doctor appointments, grocery stores, or one another, matters.

We're grateful for the engaging conversation and look forward to continuing to create opportunities for GNHDC members to learn, ask questions, and stay connected to decisions affecting Nashville communities.

The GNHDC meets every 3rd Friday on a hybrid schedule. Email [email protected] to RSVP.

Grateful to everyone who joined us last Thursday for the roundtable discussion on HR1!

This was just the beginning of an ongoing conversation, and it surfaced many valuable insights and takeaways about collaboration, communication, and the need to stay informed and connected as the various components of the bill unfold.

Special thanks to Mandy Spears and The Sycamore Institute for grounding our discussion with the context of what the bill means for our state, and to our collaborators Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center and Tennessee Justice Center.

The energy in the room (and online) is the reason why there is unbound power and possibilities in partnerships. We need collaboration now, more than ever.

Everyone is at risk from flu - even healthy children and adults. While it's riskier for some people, ANYONE can get seriously ill.

COVID and flu are caused by two different viruses, and both can cause you to become seriously sick, hospitalized, or even die.

Do you know the symptoms of flu? Flu usually comes on fast and causes fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, and achiness. It may look like COVID, so if you feel sick it’s important to get tested for BOTH diseases!
