Human milk changes to meet a baby's needs – The composition of human milk is dynamic, adapting to provide the ideal balance of nutrients, antibodies, and hydration at every stage of a baby's growth. It changes throughout the day, and in the evening and at night, it contains higher levels of melatonin, a hormone that helps babies relax and sleep. If a baby is sick, the parent's body can detect it through saliva exchange at the breast and produce more antibodies to fight infection.
