SOWN Global SOWN a 501(c)3 organization, founded in 1995, that provides basic necessities to US,China,and Nigeria The work began with the first orphanage in Xi'an.

The vision SOWN was founded in 1995 after Jeannie and her husband adopted a baby girl from Anhui province in China. Jeannie vowed to return to China to make a difference in the lives of the children that would never know the love of a family. The organization provides the most basic necessities we all take for granted to orphan's and the poor. They provide, food, clothing, medication, education, h

ousing & surgery. To date Jeannie has made 42 trips to China taking care of some 3000 children. In 2018 she expanded the work to the United States with the primary focus on the Elderly and in 2022 she expanded to Nigeria.

What we do: We change lives. We do this through supplying basic needs to those we serve. Nutrition, education, clothing and medicine - these are basic needs all children, all humans, deserve to be able to access.

After 28 years of work in China we have changed our name and expanded the work. Yes! we are still aiding the orphans in China and will continue. More info to come!

If you have been part of our journey, you know we have been working in Yunnan for many years. We have installed bathrooms, cleaned up lots, sent diapers, clothing and medical supplies. We are thrilled to announce that after many years local officials have built a new home for the children and caregivers. As we will not need to support them as much in regards to facility needs, this allows us to focus more on things like education as it is the key to helping orphans around the world escape the circumstances of institutionalized care.
