Nashville Food Policy Council

Nashville Food Policy Council The Nashville Food Policy was formed in 2010 through the Communities Putting Prevention to Work grant.

The Nashville Food Policy Council seeks to increase the availability of and access to healthy and affordable food and encourage its use by:

Influencing policy and regulations that address issues related to food security and that promote a more sustainable food system;

Engaging and educating the community to increase awareness on issues related to food security;

Creating strategic partnership

s with key stakeholders to specifically address the availability, access, and appropriate use of healthy and affordable food; and

Cultivating and supporting local food resources. The members are people who care about providing access to healthy food.
