Three cheers for community reforestation! 🎉 Yesterday morning, a volunteer planting effort added 11 new Root Nashville trees to the property of Hillcrest Community Church in the heart of Wedgewood Houston. These trees will provide the neighborhood with shade, beauty, and water quality benefits for decades to come.

Thanks to the dedicated volunteers from who donated their time to grow Nashville’s tree canopy; your hard work will lead to a greener, more resilient future for our city. 🌳🤝

Volunteer with Root Nashville! Applications are open now - April 30 for the Neighborhood Planting Captain program. As a Planting Captain, you’ll represent your neighborhood and help connect your neighbors with free trees when tree orders open in June. 💪🌳

You don’t need tree experience to become a Planting Captain; just a passion for your community and a desire to greenify your neighborhood! The time commitment is flexible, and you’ll receive training and support from staff throughout the year. Learn more about how the program works and apply at the link. https://rootnashville.org/volunteer/

Halfway there! 🌳 As of this week, the Root Nashville tree delivery season is about halfway through, with over 3,100 trees delivered to yards across the city! These trees, many of which have been planted with care by Nashvillians like you, will grow up to shade our neighborhoods, clean our water and air, and be loved by generations of neighbors.

If you’ve received a tree (or three) don’t forget to tag us in a photo!
