Regional Support....The Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA) is the largest nonprofit mountain biking organization in the Southeast. Our members work with land managers in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee to create trails and trail systems for mountain bikers and other users to enjoy. Through advocacy, education, and recreational opport

unities, SORBA carries out its mission to promote land access, trail preservation, and new trail development in order to enhance mountain bike touring, racing, fun, and fellowship for all mountain bicyclists in the southeastern United States. We have partnered with the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) and now represent over 4,000 members who help steward miles and miles of great trails in a seven-state area. The best riding in the Southeast is found on trails maintained by our volunteers. Our members love singletrack, rocks, roots, and logs, and we employ IMBA's trailbuilding practices to ensure that our trails are sustainable and challenging. Our volunteers donate thousands of hours each year to advocate for trail access, build trails, and maintain trails. IMBA-SORBA volunteers take pride in their work, and it shows in the trails that they build. Our digital news magazine, the Fat Tire Times, showcases member involvement, advocacy issues, trail information and much more. Join IMBA-SORBA today at www.imba.com !!

3/27/26: Arborists are still working to clear Hookman of widowmakers and fallen trees, please avoid this trail. The rest of the trails are open unless they are taped off by the arborists. If you see small branches on the trail, please take the time to remove them. If we all chip in it won’t take long to get the trails in prime condition again.

Thanks Murfreesboro Parks and Rec Outdoors City of Murfreesboro, TN - Government for hosting SORBA to discuss future planning!

President Matthew Carver and Barfield Trail Boss Andy Meyers were able to speak about general trail access, how awesome and blessed we are to have Barfield, needs for suitable trail systems and programming for all ages and skill levels (high priority for Rutherford County), future capital layouts that support non-profits like us, ongoing maintenance needs, safety and more!

Always great to have a seat at the table! Happy trails. Man it’s nice outside…hope you all got a ride in today, or tomorrow 😁!

Yeah... it's raining. So let's talk trail clean up. Thanks to the efforts of SEVERAL VOLUNTEERS, most of the Nashville area MTB trails have been cleared of fallen trees from Winter Storm Fern!

The trails will be wet, so when ya can... GO HIKE to pick up sticks and move any remaining branches.

Comment if you know of a big tree or issue that still needs to be addressed. Or click the orange triangle on the top of the Trail Status Page... to report / see issues as well. https://trails.sorbamidtn.org/report

Hamilton Creek: We had ONE volunteer clear most of the Lakeside trails. If you helped too... thank you. If you ever ride Hammy... have condition status, want to help... let me know. We need someone to help us keep dibs on Hammy. No work required... even just a point of contact to have eyes on Ham. DM, comment, text 615-266-6625 (BOOM OAK), etc.

Thanks everybody!
Shawn

A lot of work has been done to clear Lawson Trails. The outer loop is Mostly clear but there are a few large trees that will require a chainsaw. The dirt is ridable. So if you have means to ride in and saw thru some large trees... some assistance would be appreciated. The map shows the sections that were and were not cleared... as well as the locations of the downed trees. Please jump in and comment if you can help... or if you have an update.

This weekend saw many groups venturing out into the trails to take assessments and start the clean up process, I have tried to capture everything here in the chart. Kudos to the volunteers at Cane, Jones, Hammy, Shutes, Cedar Hill, Lock 4, and Barfield - lots accomplished this weekend and much more to come.

**Metro Parks has still not closed anything officially, however gate open status is unknown in several locations

**Reminder - Workday today at Lock 4 with Hardin at 2:00pm!

Knowing this will not change much today and going through the frigid weekend we are are officially 100% closed in all areas...Jones Mill being the exception as the state does not allow SORBA to close their trail, however there are multiple issues reported here so please AVOID.

**Metro Parks has not officially closed any park system, however power is still out at several properties and gate statuses are unknown at this point.

We are so thankful for our SORBA trail bosses who are working hard to gather info and make trail assessments, ensuring safety is our # goal right now. We will continue to update on trail status here as well as on www.sorbamidtn.org/current-conditions as we learn more. Your help will be needed soon in the clean-up efforts...stay tuned!
