In 2021, COMTO celebrated its 50th year as the nation’s premier multimodal advocacy organization in the transportation industry. Standing on the shoulders of our founders and the contributions of an international membership comprised of devoted transportation professionals, COMTO enhances workforce development, connects talent to opportunities, and uplifts all lived experience in the transportatio

n industry. What is now COMTO began in 1971 at Howard University when the Urban Mass Transit Administration (UMTA) held the first national Minorities in Mobility conference to provide a forum for minority professionals in the transportation industry. The conference drew 77 participants and was led and organized by Rev. Jerry Moore, Harold B. Williams and Carmen Turner. By 1978, the now Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) had grown to six regional chapters and by 1985, 23 chapters. In 1992, the first national office of COMTO opened in Washington, D.C. COMTO today has 40 chapters (and growing) in the U.S. and Canada and is led by a President & CEO and a National Board of Directors. COMTO’s national office remains headquartered in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area and is fully staffed. COMTO also has a Council of Presidents which consists of the presidents of each its 40 chapters.

Meet Christyna Draling serving as the COMTO Nashville Second Vice President for the 2026-2028 term.
She currently serve as a Transit Navigator with WeGo Public Transit, where she has been for the past 10 months. In this role, she helps residents and visitors navigate Nashville's public transit system by providing information, trip planning assistance, and resources that make public transportation more accessible and easier to use.

Joining COMTO has given her the opportunity to connect with transportation professionals who are passionate about advancing the industry. As a new member, she is committed to supporting COMTO's mission by promoting leadership development, professional growth, scholarship and internship opportunities, advocacy, partnership building, and meaningful networking.

Meet De'Antwaine Moye, serving as COMTO Nashville Vice President for the 2026-2028 term.
De'Antwaine Moye is an experienced leader in supplier diversity, compliance, and supply chain equity. He works to ensure diverse businesses have the opportunity to participate in strategic partnerships and contracting opportunities. He is passionately driven in ministry, community service, civil rights, supplier diversity, and organizational development.

Meet Ricci Kellum, serving as COMTO Nashville Social Media Chair for the 2026–2028 term.
Ricci is an Operations Coordinator at Fairpointe Planning where she explores the different areas of Human Resources within the transportation industry. She is a Spring 24’ graduate from Tennessee State University where she earned a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Business. She has experience working with the State of West Virginia in their Office of Human Resource Management, Recruitment and Retention Unit. This role solidified her career path in HR and motivated her to pursue an MPS in Human Resources Leadership at Middle Tennessee State University.

Meet Chelsea Arvin, serving as COMTO Nashville Secretary for the 2026–2028 term.
With more than 15 years of experience in the transportation industry, Chelsea is passionate about advancing equitable, innovative, and sustainable transportation solutions. She currently works in transportation infrastructure and right-of-way, where she supports projects that enhance mobility and improve communities. As Secretary, Chelsea is committed to fostering collaboration, supporting member engagement, and helping advance COMTO's mission of creating opportunities and strengthening diversity within the transportation industry.
