Do Something began with our son, Caleb.

Over Labor Day weekend in 2017, Caleb died from a he**in overdose. Losing him changed our family forever.

We could not change what happened to our son, but we knew we could not remain silent or stand by while other individuals and families faced addiction, grief, and crisis alone.

Our family’s story became part of the PBS documentary The Addict’s Wake. We shared the most painful part of our lives because we believed that honest conversations about addiction, mental health, grace, forgiveness, and recovery could help other people.

But the work did not end when filming ended.

It continues every time one of our Board members or we answers the phone. Every time someone needs help finding treatment. Every time a frightened family needs guidance. Every time a practical obstacle stands between a person and the next right step.

We are now inviting others to help us continue the work that grew from Caleb’s story.

Partners of Hope are individuals, families, churches, and businesses who support Do Something with a dependable monthly gift.

If our family’s story or the work of Do Something has touched your life, would you consider becoming one of them?

https://dosomethingnashville.org/

We will always wish Caleb were here. Until we see him again, we will keep doing what we can to help someone else find hope.

There are a variety of AA, NA, Al-Anon, Nar-Anon, Alateen and Celebrate Recovery meetings meetings in and around Brown County.

What does a Partner of Hope help make possible?

Sometimes hope looks like helping someone understand how to enter treatment.

Sometimes it is transportation when a person has no safe way to reach a recovery program, shelter, appointment, or new job.

Sometimes it is a bus pass, a small recovery incentive, assistance with a utility bill, or help overcoming a barrier to stable housing.

Sometimes it is simply having a trained person answer the phone when someone is frightened, overwhelmed, or ready to take the next step.

We cannot solve every problem or meet every request. But we can listen. We can make calls. We can connect people with resources. We can stay beside someone while they begin figuring out what comes next.

Monthly Partners of Hope help make that steady, personal response possible.

Would you consider joining us with a monthly gift of $10, $25, $50, $100, or an amount that is right for you?

In need of help for yourself or someone you love? Call Do Something at 812-308-3188. Our official phone is answered by a trained recovery coach.

We have something important to share.

For more than eight years, Do Something has been walking alongside individuals and families facing addiction, grief, instability, and some of life’s most difficult circumstances.

Our trained recovery coach answers calls from people who do not know where else to turn. We help connect people with treatment and recovery resources. When funds are available, we also help remove practical barriers through transportation, bus passes, recovery incentives, housing assistance, emergency needs, and other forms of support.

Most of this work happens quietly—one phone call, one person, and one next step at a time.

Today, we are launching Partners of Hope.

Our goal is to build a community of 100 individuals, families, churches, and businesses who believe in this work and will support it with a dependable monthly gift.

Some may give $10 a month. Others may give $25, $50, $100, or more. Every amount matters because steady monthly support allows us to keep responding when someone reaches out for help.

Will you prayerfully consider becoming a Partner of Hope?

You can give monthly or make a one-time gift at:

https://dosomethingnashville.org/

If you cannot give right now, sharing this post with a personal message about why you believe in Do Something would also help us tremendously.

Together, we can make sure people in our community still have somewhere to turn.

Partnering with individuals, families, and community to link people in need to resources that encourage, equip, and empower them to live a life of wholeness & freedom filled with JOY & HOPE.

One Family with Kids HAS SIGNED A LEASE! One Family with Kids has BEEN APPROVED FOR APARTMENT and will Sign Lease Next Week!!! BOTH FAMILIES ARE DAYS AWAY FROM LONG TERM STABLE HOUSING OF THEIR OWN!
While we finish up with these 2 families with 4 kids and get them into their own housing THERE IS ANOTHER FAMILY who has been pulling at my heart strings since the BPD referred them to us a few days ago. TEENS SLEEPING IN CAR with parents. As a mother of teens who lost her mother as a teen I know All Too Well that an 18th birthday doesn't change the need for Love, Support, and Parenting!
This family is wonderful and working hard to STAY TOGETHER and overcome obstacles. TEENS ARE ON DISABILITY AND IN SCHOOL! Mom is on disability and Dad is Working! They have been paying for their own hotel but have run out of money. THEY JUST NEED A LITTLE HELP UNTIL THEY GET PAID AGAIN AND CAN GET BACK ON THEIR FEET! They need a Safe Warm Place to Sleep and Shower for Work and School. One of the disabled Teens has a dog and with their family make up and NO MORE EMERGENCY SHELTER there are NO SHELTER OPTIONS for this family.
We would love nothing more than to be able to provide this to them and give them The Success Story we know they can have like the last 2 families!
WE CAN SHELTER ALL 13 MEMBERS OF THE 3 FAMILIES AND FUR BABY FOR LESS THAN $25 A PERSON PER NIGHT while using Hotels and Air BnBs.
If you can donate please do so now. If you want to help but are unable to contribute financially PLEASE SHARE so others who can will know there is a need and how to help.
If you have a group or church who might want to get involved please let me know and I can reach out and give presentations!
VENMO AND PAYPAL @ h4hbtown
(A Terrible Person has created a SCAM VENMO with our logo @ h4hbtowne with an "e" at the end so please be sure NOT to use that one. We are working to get it shut down and will pursue all legal options and public humiliation once the identity has been confirmed.)

Congratulations! What a great way to start 2026!

Congratulations! What a great way to start 2026!

A monumental day for Chain Breaker Ministries! After being renters of our house in Columbus for the last 6 years we signed paperwork to purchase the house today. The house that has been the home of our ministry. The house where we have seen God transform so many men's lives through the years. A ministry that was birthed out of tragedy, that God has used to bring himself Glory! As I reflect back through the years I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. Gratitude for what God has done, gratitude for the many people that have supported us through prayer and with financial support, gratitude for the hard times. (Oftentimes we see God grow us the most when we are in the valley and not on the mountaintop. ) Gratitude for being a part of these men and their families walk with the Lord. Gratitude for how God can take someone with such a rough past and allow them to be a servant of the Lord. (Romans 8:28.) This is more than just a house to us. It's a home. It's a place where men can come and experience hope and healing. Where they can grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. 2nd Peter 3:18.

Thank you so much to everyone has supported us. We are overwhelmed by your support and belief in what God is doing in and through this ministry. Our hearts are full of gratitude and love.

In Christ,

Ross Pushor
