Are you a touring professional, artist, crew member, or someone working in the live music industry in the past 5 years? Dr. Stacy L. Smith and the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative are conducting a research study that aims to better understand the realities of balancing parenthood, caregiving, and touring.

Your insights will help shape solutions to better support life on the road. The survey is voluntary, takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and is anonymous. Add your voice and share with others to help shape the future of the industry!

Thank you to AmericanaFest for making space for Chasing Dreams and Raising Babies: Redefining Artist Life with Children and to Maggie Rose and Austin Marshall for joining us for such an important and honest conversation about what it really looks like to build a life, raise a family and pursue a career in music at the same time. And, of course, Graham stole the show 🤍 Grateful to everyone who joined us and continues to be part of this conversation.

The first rule of caregiving, is caring for yourself. Sandra Bullock’s conversation with Amy Poehler on Good Hang is an important reminder of just how much it can take to care for someone you love (emotionally, physically, financially) and how much support caregivers need, too.

For so many people working in music, caregiving happens alongside the already unpredictable realities of building a career. Caring for a parent, a partner, a child or another loved one doesn’t stop when there’s a session, a show or a tour.

At FAM, we believe the people doing the caring deserve to be cared for, too.
