Hello AGA. Our loving brother Justin Blake Yamauchi was involved in a life threatening car accident.

His van became lodged underneath a semi-truck trailer on Interstate 5 in Santa Clarita. He suffered multiple brain bleeds, a broken forearm, multiple broken ribs, broken femurs in both legs and severe injuries to his knee and left leg. He remains in a cervical collar as doctors continue to monitor his condition.

The doctors have said that the brain bleeds are stable and he has began to breathe on his own.

Ladies and gentlemen, the last bombshell of the Summer 2026 season has entered the villa...

This summer, Bro. Cayden Leslie has been holding down the fort in Nashville. After wrapping up his RA duties in May, Bro. Leslie has been spending his time working in the service and hospitality industry through his job at Popstroke, the world’s largest mini golf experience that hosts a full service restaurant and ice cream parlor.

When he’s not making milkshakes and scoring hole-in-ones, Bro. Leslie is finding time to make moves civically in his local community, through interning under Councilwoman Joy Styles and her up and coming mayoral campaign.

Now, for what he has planned for the rest of the summer? Bro. Leslie plans to represent the Alpha Gamma Alpha chapter at Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.’s leadership conference in July. While also continuing to hang out with friends, working on his summer bucket list, and continuing to try new hobbies. He looks forward to bringing these skills and experiences to help further enrich the Vanderbilt community.

Ladies and gentlemen, our next islander has officially entered the villa...

This summer, Bro. Ousmane Dieng has been making moves across West Africa and Europe through the Keegan Traveling Fellowship. Between conducting independent research, meeting with representatives from organizations such as the United Nations, International Organization for Migration (IOM), government ministries, universities, NGOs, and migrants themselves, he has spent the summer gaining firsthand insight into informal migration processes and economic development. He is also completing the Gandhi-King Global Academy’s Negotiations Certification, continuing his work as a virtual substitute teacher with the Washington English Center, and making time for community service along the way.

When he’s not conducting research, Bro. Dieng can be found improving his Wolof, German, and Japanese language skills, learning to cook even more Senegalese dishes, reconnecting with family and friends, and finally making time for trips to the beach.

As for the rest of the summer? Bro. Dieng plans to continue his research, drink more smoothies by the beach, and watch Senegal win the World Cup before returning to Vanderbilt in August for Move Crew. He looks forward to bringing these experiences back to campus as he continues pursuing his interests in migration policy, international development, and diplomacy.

Ladies and gentlemen, our first bombshell has entered the villa...

This summer, Bro. TJ Jalloh has been turning heads from London to Los Angeles. After participating in a Vanderbilt Maymester abroad, he made his way to California where he is currently interning at AEFH Talent Agency, working alongside a distinguished talent agent and gaining firsthand experience in the entertainment industry.

When he’s not making moves professionally, Bro. Jalloh can be found creating content, hitting the gym, and sharpening his culinary skills in the kitchen. So far, some of the biggest highlights of his summer have been traveling to London and experiencing life in Los Angeles.

As for what’s next? Bro. Jalloh plans to continue building his network, growing professionally, and chasing new opportunities before making his return to Vanderbilt. One thing’s for sure: this islander isn’t done making waves just yet.

This semester, the Alpha Gamma Alpha Chapter continued to demonstrate what it means to be the People’s Frat through exemplary showcase of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service. From Mini Weeks and Service Saturdays to being named Outstanding Regional Collegiate Chapter for South Western Region.

Additionally, we want to shoutout Bro. Gregory Brand ( ) our chapter advisor for being named Outstanding Chapter Advisor.

Alpha Gamma Alpha will continue to leave its mark on the yard because “Our cause speeds on its way.”

Bro. Marques Watson recently graduated magna cm laude from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a B.S. in Multilingual Studies with a Concentration in Spanish

Post-grad, Bro. Watson is continuing his passion for education as a 4th grade teacher in the Metro Nashville Public Schools.

Throughout his time at Vanderbilt, Bro. Watson distinguished himself as both a scholar and campus leader. Some of his achievements and involvements include:
* Chancellor’s Scholar
* Peabody Honors Scholar
* Deputy Life Editor for The Vanderbilt Hustler
* Student Worker at the Sarratt Student Center

Throughout his time in the Alpha Gamma Alpha Chapter, Bro. Watson held numerous leadership positions including Treasurer, Social Media Coordinator/Public Relations Chair, and ultimately President. Under his leadership, the chapter continued to grow its impact on campus and in the Nashville community while maintaining a strong commitment to brotherhood, scholarship, and service.

We could not be prouder of Bro. Watson and all that he has accomplished. As he begins his career in education, we have no doubt that he will continue to positively impact the lives of those around him just as he has done here at Vanderbilt.

Join Bro. Mason Richards, Spring ’94 and one of the founding brothers of the Alpha Gamma Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., for Soul Thursdays’ Becoming: From Guyana to Hollywood.

Born in Guyana and raised in Brooklyn, Bro. Richards was discovered as a child actor at age 12. He went from performing off-Broadway to directing the first all-Black theater production in Vanderbilt history. His short film The Seawall premiered at Cannes and is now headed to the Venice Biennale.

This Thursday, the filmmaker and Emerson College professor joins Soul Thursdays to discuss migration, Black boyhood, fatherhood, and the urgency of finishing what matters before time runs out.
