Vanderbilt CKI can best be understood through the three beliefs that, from the very beginning, have defined it. It has been these three beliefs that differentiate and motivate our organization, making us the premier campus service club we are today.
1. Service should be simple. Vanderbilt students are busy, pulled in a million directions all at once. Giving back to the Nashville community and our
campus should not be a chore or a source of stress. Rather, it would be a rewarding experience that enhances one's already tightly-packed schedule. CKI seeks to provide diversified service opportunities to fit an array of interests with no unnecessary paperwork or restrictive commitments.
2. Service should be rewarding. Service, as much as it is about building one's community, is about building onseself. Vanderbilt CKI is a charter club of the world's premier collegiate service organization, and with more than 600,000 Kiwanis family members worldwide, constitutes the largest global network represented on campus. Driven by a strong partnership with the Kiwanis club of Nashville, Vanderbilt CKI seeks to enhance its membership experience by providing meaningful opportunities for self-growth and professional development to members seeking careers in all fields.
3. A group of passionate individuals can change the world. CKI approaches service differently. Rather than recruiting students to fit a pre-determined case, we seek out local non-profits that fit our members' personal passions because we believe the strongest impact comes when community servants are truly engaged in a cause they believe in fully. For that reason, we invite all our members to help direct the course of our service. What matters to you? We are Vanderbilt CKI, and we hope you'll join us.
