If we’re being completely honest… this post wasn’t easy to write.
We set the tables, lined up the beads, prepped the Dirty Soda Bar, and waited for "Bracelets & Bubbly." We built this night hoping to fill a room with women ready to step up as mentors for the girls we serve.
Two people showed up. Just two.
If we’re transparent, it hurt. It stings knowing that the young girls in our program—girls who carry so much and simply need a steady, caring adult to walk beside them—don't always have people showing up in droves to stand in their corner. We aren't backed by huge crowds, and some nights, the quiet in the room is loud.
But then we sat down at the table. We made bracelets, shared stories, laughed over dirty sodas, and held hands. And we were reminded of a truth that changes everything:
Movement doesn't require a crowd. Sometimes, all it takes is one… or two.
To the incredible women who showed up: THANK YOU. Your presence meant more than words can say. You proved that showing up isn't about numbers; it’s about heart. You chose to stand beside our girls, and that changes lives.
To everyone reading this: our girls are still here, and they still need mentors. You don't have to be part of a massive movement to change a girl's story. You just have to be the one who shows up.
