Josh Powell. Husband. Hero. West Point Grad. Army Ranger. Angel in Heaven. Battled Synovial Sarcoma from 2014-2016. This is his legacy... KeepGoing Keep Going.
The Josh Powell Foundation was founded in honor of 1LT William Joshua Powell by his loving wife, Fabi, and best friend, Dan. At 25 years old, Josh was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Synovial Sarcoma in his lower abdomen/pelvis. This cancer took his life two years and 25 days later, just one month after marrying the love of his life.
Fabi has made it her mission to create a legacy in
honor of her late husband using his story and vision to motivate and encourage those battling sarcoma cancer to be open about their battle, fight their fight, and Keep Going despite the odds stacked against them. This mindset creates a ripple effect, allowing the positive outlook of those facing adversity to continue to inspire others through their own personal battle, and the mission lives on.
Josh's Keep Going statement, along with motivational and functional Keep Going merchandise items, are gifted to newly diagnosed sarcoma patients on their first day of treatment. These items are designed to provide hope, courage, and strength to these incredibly brave sarcoma warriors as they step into a battle they should never have to face. These items are intended to be used on a daily basis as a constant reminder to Keep Going, and own their battle, all while inspiring those who have the chance to hear their story. “Inspiring the world one battle at a time.”
Dear Sarcoma Warrior,
"This statement is not just another saying or phrase to get you up in the morning. This is a statement saying that whatever it is that you are going through, whatever it is that is harming you or causing you ill, that you will persevere. This is a statement to those who hear you say this out loud that no matter where you are in life, if the hard times have you down, or if life is just kicking you in the ass, this is a statement saying that you will rise above. This is a statement that defines who we are as a human race. We do not stand on the sidelines and watch, we get back in the fight, in this amazing adventure we call life, and make the best out of it. This is a statement that is to remind you of where you have been before, and no matter what life throws at you, you will conquer it. So sit up straight, focus on the task at hand, let all your worries go by the wayside. If you need motivation then say it out loud with me, “Keep Going!” No matter how small, always take that step to better yourself and accomplish your goals. The easiest way to succeed is to always take just one more step. What are you waiting for? Be strong when you are weak, be brave when you are scared, be humble when you are victorious, be badass everyday." Sincerely,
Josh Powell

CALLING OUR COMMUNITY:
I received a message from a 43-year-old woman, a fellow runner and fierce self-advocate, who was recently diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma. She found the lump herself and pushed for answers — now she’s heading into surgery at Vanderbilt on May 20th. Understandably, she’s devastated by the news and is seeking to connect with someone who has walked this road before her.
If you or someone you know has faced Synovial Sarcoma and would be open to offering support, sharing your story, or simply being a listening ear, please message me directly. I know firsthand how meaningful it is to talk to someone who gets it.
Let’s rally together and remind her she’s not alone.

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Josh 💫
Today, you would have been 35. I still feel your presence in every part of my life, and not a day goes by that I don’t carry you with me in my heart. I thank you for watching over me and for handpicking Kyle to love me in ways I never imagined after losing you. And now, as we await the arrival of Adler, I know you had a hand in him too—another beautiful gift you’ve given me from above.
For anyone who has known the depths of unimaginable loss, especially my fellow widows, I want to remind you that joy does coexist with pain. There is hope even when life shatters. Though our paths may look different now, there is still beauty to be found in the journey ahead. Love and life after loss aren’t a betrayal; they’re a tribute to the ones who loved us first.
Josh, I miss you always, but I know you are still with me, guiding my steps, and reminding me that love—like yours—never truly leaves us.
Here’s to your 35th, and to the incredible life I know you would have lived. I love you. 💙

Happy heavenly birthday to my first love. Today you should be turning 34, but instead, you live on here earth side forever 27. Though you're no longer here physically, your presence is felt in every cherished memory, in every smile you brought to our faces, and in the love that still surrounds us.
Today, we celebrate not just the day you were born, but the beautiful full life you lived in such a short time and the love you shared with those lucky enough to know you. You continue to inspire us with your strength, grit, and pure determination to KEEP GOING no matter what.
May your birthday be filled with the same warmth and love you always brought into our lives. We love you Josh… thank you choosing me to be your forever, and for sending me my second chance at mine. He’s perfect.
Kyle loves and honors you right alongside me like I always prayed my future love would. He drank his coffee out of your mug this morning and wrote the most beautiful birthday message to you in his journal. The prompt just so happen to be “How do you want to be remembered?” Well played 😉
To anyone reading this, I challenge you to take some time today to think about that prompt…. “How do you want to be remembered?” I know if Josh was still here, he would say “I would want people to say, because of Josh Powell, I never gave up.”
If you feel like you’re at the end of your rope, this message is for you. Don’t give up. It gets better, I promise. And to Josh, may you forever live on in the hearts of those you’ve touched 🙏🏼🤍
Love Always,
Fabi Powell

This is my late husband, Josh. At 25 years old, Josh was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called synovial sarcoma. This cancer took his life two years and 25 days later.
Josh's mission was to inspire others. He wanted someone to say, “Because of Josh Powell, I didn’t give up.” He fiercely believed in the power of the mind and staying positive in the face of adversity. Throughout his battle with cancer, Josh never lost hope and never stopped living. Josh continued to set goals, even after being told he was dying. My husband was a warrior until the very end.

The Josh Powell Foundation was, and always will be, inspired by 1LT William Joshua Powell, better known as “Josh." Josh was a strong, courageous, 27-year-old Army Ranger who battled synovial sarcoma of the lower abdomen for two years and 25 days. His battle ended on December 13, 2016, just one month after he married the love of his life.
Josh's mission was to inspire others. He wanted someone to say, “Because of Josh Powell, I didn’t give up.” He fiercely believed in the power of the mind and staying positive in the face of adversity. Josh carried around several journals filled with motivational quotes, thoughts, and ideas that he had hand written to encourage himself thoughtout his battle with cancer. Josh relied on those journals to stay positive, and never lose hope. He continued to set goals and live his life to the fullest, even after being told he was dying. Josh Powell was a warrior until the very end, and he would want the same for you.
After Josh’s passing, his wife Fabi was flooded with messages from thousands of people all over the world who had heard their story and were inspired by their perseverance in the face of adversity. In order to maintain this positive impact, Fabi decided to start a nonprofit in honor of her late husband creating a platform for fellow sarcoma warriors to share their own unique, personal journey and continue Josh’s wish to inspire others. This platform is now known as the Josh Powell Foundation, with a mission of, “Inspiring the world - one battle at a time.”
We fulfill our mission by empowering the minds of newly diagnosed sarcoma patients, providing them with inspiration, encouragement, and motivation to keep going beginning on their first day of treatment through our Powell Pack Program. The Powell Packs include functional items that double as daily reminders to stay positive, never lose hope, and keep going despite the challenges that lie ahead. These packs are gifted to every newly diagnosed sarcoma patient undergoing treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center with the hope to expand to other hospitals in the future.
Our ultimate goal is to empower your mind before your battle begins. Josh always said, “The majority of your success will be mental. A strong mind equals a strong outcome.” Josh’s advice to all newly diagnosed cancer patients is to be strong, lean on your support systems, and recognize early on that cancer is not a death sentence.
