This month is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

Domestic violence is one of the leading causes of family homelessness. Up to 80% of women with children experiencing homelessness have an experience with DV. We work with families every day who have bravely walked away from unsafe situations and are working toward healing, safety and stability for their families.

If you or someone you know needs support, resources are available. Call 615-955-0620 to be connected with Nashville's DV Coordinated Entry System.

Dancing for Safe Haven was absolutely dazzling! 🪩 We were blown away by these incredible Nashville Notables as they took the dance floor, and we loved getting together with our community to enjoy the show. Thank you so much to everyone who came out, donated and supported this event! Together, we raised over $600,000 to support families on their journey to permanent housing!

Don't forget to mark your calendars for November 7th to join us for our final event of the year: Hike for Safe Haven! Visit hikeforsafehaven.org to learn more.

We love that today is Dolly Day/ Give Like Dolly Day! Dolly Parton showed us that generosity can take many forms. It can open a book, open a door, help someone through a hard season, or give a person the chance to discover what they are capable of achieving.

Give Like Dolly – Middle Tennessee is an invitation to carry on with that kindness. For the next three days, the community can donate through the Community Foundation of Middle TN to nonprofits in the area doing the kind of work that Dolly championed. There are several organizations we partner with on the list, and all are worthy! We recommend donating to the Imagination Library of Middle TN (through United Way of Greater Nashville) as we make sure all of our families with children ages 0-5 are enrolled in that program. And we are also big fans of Pawster as they are a great partner when our families need to foster their pet while we secure housing for them. https://www.giving9to5.com/

Even though we are not listed on CFMT website, you can also honor Dolly through a donation to Safe Haven directly to https://bit.ly/shfsdonatenow or sign up to volunteer for our Welcome Home that takes place every Thursday. https://bit.ly/welcomehomevolunteer

There are so many ways to carry on the kindness and generosity with which Dolly Parton lived her life. We hope you will choose to take action to honor her legacy! 🦋♥
