Reaching Ecuador, One Soul At A Time After 20+ years in singing ministry with our family in the U.S. Acts 1.8, Matthew 25, Acts 2.38, John 3.5

and a call from the Lord, we began our current ministry in the Amazon region of Ecuador, South America 17 years ago in January 2006. In this time, we have founded, built and now pastor 4 beautiful jungle churches in a work that focuses not only on the Ecuadorians, but also on the Kichwa, Shuar and Waorani Indians of this area. Our ministry is not limited to just evangelism and the preaching of the

Gospel, but we are also very involved in a Humanitarian aspect, with projects such as our monthly Food and Clothing Distributions, amongst others. We are ministry minded, with a great love and burden for this country, and we are striving to "Reach Ecuador, One Soul At A Time".

Praise the Lord, Super Blue is ready!! After a new fuel pump and a couple of new fuses we are good to drive again!

This Chevy DMax truck is 17 years old, has a 5 speed manual transmission, no A/C, no power windows, etc. But I cannot fully explain what a Blessing this truck has been to this Ministry. For those who don’t know the story, when Charles and I first moved here 20 years ago we had no transportation. So, each day, we’d get up and take a bus somewhere, go to the end of the route, then get off wherever God told us and walk for hours at a time, looking for souls. We’d carry 30-40 pound backpacks with rice, Bibles, and whatever we could bring! We’d follow the jungle trails until we reached a community. We did this for over 3 years.

Then Mom, Dad, and my older brother, Jerry Jr, bought Super Blue for our ministry here. This truck has allowed us to carry thousands of people to Church in these 17 years, deliver thousands of pounds of food and Bibles each year, carry school supplies, clothes and so much more. Oh the prayers, the praise, the songs that have rang out in the quiet of the jungle in this truck. The precious sounds of laughter from children have filled my heart as we’ve taken them to and from Church on the rugged roads in this truck. Nothing more beautiful than the voices of Ecuadorians praising the Lord in the truck as the power of God falls upon all inside! One Brother even received the Holy Ghost sitting right in the back of this truck!

This truck has also carried me safely through many dangerous situations, where the enemy was present wanting to cause us harm. However, with prayers ringing out, the Lord took the wheel and brought us on through. It has been driven through rivers and on slippery muddy jungle roads. It has climbed mountainous terrain where a steep drop-off was nearby and has taken us down into the deepest valleys, too. This truck has gone through many roadblocks where things have been thrown at us and windows been banged on, trying to cause fear and intimidation. Oh, but then, there are the stories of Angels surrounding the truck, taking us safely on our journey. And Angels who are riding in the truck with us! Hallelujah!

The monetary value of Super Blue is very little after all these years. But to this Ministry, Super Blue is a priceless Blessing from the Lord and we are so thankful for it!

After a wonderful service at our Puyupungo Church recently, I dropped everyone off at their homes and headed back to the city of Puyo. We didn’t make it very far when the truck just died in the middle of the road, acting as if it was out of gas although the needle was showing plenty gas. This was at night and there are absolutely no lights anywhere in the jungle so it’s really dark out. There is no cell service out here in the jungle, either, so I couldn’t call anyone. So myself and two of my church members that were with me just started walking down the long, dark jungle road to try and find help. It’s very rare to see another vehicle on the roads out in the jungle. After just a short time a motorcycle came by and was willing to sell us some gas but we had no way to syphon the gas from the tank. So we just kept walking. We came to a house and the nice folks were more than willing to help but literally had no means with which to help us. No vehicle, no gas, etc. We continued walking. Then out of the ‘blue’ (y’all know Jesus already had this planned!) a big commercial truck came driving by and we flagged it down. Turns out it was someone that the couple with me actually knew. Thankfully I had a rope in Super Blue and the kind gentleman was willing to pull us the entire hour drive to my house. Oh what a wonderful time we had on that ‘ride’ home. We prayed, we praised, we witnessed to the driver, we laughed, we cried, just had a big ole time in the Lord. I am so very thankful that the Lord’s hand of protection is always watching over us! I may not have a truck right now (I called the tow truck in the picture to take it to the mechanic shop) but I still have Jesus and there’s still much work to do for the Kingdom so we are still about the Father’s business!! Super Blue may be down, but not out! I trust the Lord that it’ll be back up and running soon!

This past week we celebrated the 11th Anniversary of our Headquarters Church in Puyo, Ecuador.

We are not a mega Church that seats thousands, nor do we have thousands of members. However, we have literally had thousands of people come through this Church hearing the Gospel, the majority of them for the very first time.

When I became a Missionary in Ecuador 20 years ago I thought I would only have Churches in the deep jungle region of the Amazon. So when the Lord instructed me and my brother, Charles, to build a Church in the city of Puyo (we had already built 4 jungle Churches at that time) I was both surprised and excited! Now these 11 years later I can only stand in awe of all the Souls that have been touched by the Lord, whose lives have been changed forever, in this Church.

Besides our regular ‘local’ people, we have people who travel for 9 hours, some for 11 hours, others walk 2 days, all of these on a regular basis, numerous times through the years, to arrive at our Church. Not only from all over Ecuador, but from so many countries all over the world including from countless States in America, from Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Canada and so many others!

They are not coming because of me! I am just an unknown jungle Missionary that serves the Lord each day by serving precious people whose villages you won’t even find on a map. But what I’ve been told over and again is that they are coming because they have heard about the great move of God here, they have seen ‘fire’ coming from the Church building, they have seen angels encamped around about this building. They are coming because they want something real, something different, something they have never experienced before, something they don’t have in their part of the world. THIS is why the Lord instructed us to build a Church in this particular location. Not so anyone would ever know my name, but that so many would come to know HIM in this beautiful Church!

What an honor to be able to help out my friends (Bro. Jherson and Sis. Marjorie) and their beautiful work in Shushufindi, which is about 8 hours away. We were able to provide toys and candy treats for all these precious children and they sent us this adorable video of them saying, “Gracias” (Thank you!) Oh my heart!

This is what it’s all about! Being a missionary is being a blessing in any way we can to help reach another soul for the kingdom! Thank you faithful supporters of Ecuador Missions for bringing so much joy to the lives of so many here!

We may be without our actual Church building in Puyupungo right now as it is being rebuilt, but we are still reaching Ecuador. The Gospel is still being preached and Matthew 25 is still being fulfilled. We are feeding them both body and Soul as the Lord provides! Oh, what a marvelous life it is serving and living for Jesus!

So wonderful to honor all the Dads on Father’s Day. Although I wasn’t able to get pics of all of them, I wanted to share a few I did get. We’re so proud of the men who are coming to Church and serving the Lord; becoming strong and valiant men, building altars in their homes and leading their children in the ways of the Lord. It was a beautiful day of gratitude and honor for these men. God Bless them all!

I love seeing these precious babies, even at such a young age, have a song and a praise in their heart for Jesus!! Genesis and Jhon sure made me smile! They’re beautiful worshippers of the Lord!

Look at all of these precious young people in our Puyo church! We celebrated them recently on “Children’s Day”, letting them know how loved and special they are to me and to the church.

The Lord has blessed them, and given them all many different gifts and talents. My prayer is that they will always use those to bring Glory to His name and that they will serve Him all the days of their lives. I sure do feel so honored to be their Missionary.

Some of you may have seen the post that I shared last week on my personal profile (Susan Templet) about us having to essentially rebuild our Puyuypungo Church. During this time, though, we are so Blessed that a neighboring community is allowing us to rent a small pavilion to hold our services in .

At the very first gathering there, we pulled out the anointing oil, and walked around the entire area, anointing every part of it in Jesus name, praying over it, and thanking the Lord for this place to congregate. We prayed for the people of the community that the Lord would bless them for allowing us to be here and we prayed that we will be a great witness to all those near, that they will be able to feel the wonderful presence and love of Jesus even as they pass by. And wow, it was truly powerful prayer, and God has already been answering it, as a new lady has attended the last 2 services there!!

We are really having a great move of God under the pavillion as we continue reaching the souls here. Some people thought that we weren’t having services anymore because our building is under construction, but we have joyfully told them, “Oh, yes we are! We’re out under the pavillion now!” For you see, nothing can hinder the church of the living God from going forward! Being on the mission field for 20 years now, I have learned that you can always work for the Lord, no matter your circumstances, your location, your finances or anything else that might be considered an obstacle. Nada puede detenernos! Continuaremos! Nothing can stop us! We’re continuing!!!
