What a great day this was. The ribbon cutting made the Hoosier Hills Scenic Byway official. Thanks to all involved, especially Matt Rust, director of the Brown County Convention and Visitors Bureau, aka, CVB and Cristina Villania, also with the CVB, for keeping the project alive. The byway gives the business along highway 135 an opportunity to advertise.
Our paper, The Brown County Democrat had a very nice article covering the event.

So fortunate to have this picture of Rhonda Dunn (1953-2025) who was archivist for Brown County Historical Society. Rhonda was the second volunteer for the PVH Cemetery Committee and beneficial to the success of finding and leading the cleaning of Brown County Cemeteries. She organized the volunteers into their own nonprofit 501C4 in September 2024. Now they carry on the much-needed work as BC Cemetery Preservation Society

Recognizing Rhonda Dunn for her years of advice and effort with Brown County Cemeteries. She was our second volunteer. She will be missed.

The interest in markers lead to many questions: Indiana Historical Markers and the National Register are two that we can give some information on. This is a summation of PVH's experiences.
1. Decide if your location of subject is worth you time and money.
2. Request an application
3. You must prove your subject is worthy by providing facts and location.
4. Submit your application for review.
5. Wait for responses with suggested changes and/or required inclusions. (This may take months)
6. Once approved submit payment.
7. Wait.
