This spring, 23 Journey high school seniors crossed the finish line 🎓 🎉

Three of those students walked away with their Associate's degree at the same time! 17 of them have committed to a college, with universities like Tennessee Tech, Belmont, Lipscomb, and more on that list. These are just a few of the many pictures from the graduations!

And at least 7 Journey alumni graduated college this year too — students we've watched grow up and go the distance.

We are so proud of every single one of them!

Journey exists to walk alongside students through the long haul of high school and beyond — and moments like this are why. Congratulations to the Class of 2026. We are so excited for your next chapter 💛

Yesterday, we celebrated 22 children at our Kindergarten Readiness Program graduation — and what a celebration it was! 🎉

The kids took the stage and sang the alphabet, Head Shoulders Knees & Toes, and BINGO. Families filled the room with joy and filled the tables with an incredible potluck spread.

None of it happens without the teachers and volunteers who show up week after week with commitment, faithfulness, and genuine care for these children and families. Thank you for everything you poured into this year đź’›

Spring 2026 wrapped up this week for our adult English classes, and we sent it off right. 🎉

Over the past two days, students gathered with their teachers to celebrate the semester — certificates were presented, food was shared, and teachers took time to speak personally over each student: what they noticed, what they appreciated, what they'll remember. There was laughter, games, a few more lessons snuck in, and gifts.

It's a small tradition that means a lot. These students gave this semester their time and effort, often alongside jobs, families, and everything else life brings. We're grateful for every one of them đź’›

The 2026 Journey Showcase was a night to remember 🎉

Our Journey students took the stage — sharing speeches, singing, dancing, and showing what they're made of. This year's theme was Transformation, and watching these students, it was hard to argue with that word. We also celebrated roughly 25 graduating seniors who are closing one chapter and stepping into the next.

None of it happens without community. First Presbyterian Church, Nashville and the Presbyterian Women opened their space, decorated it, fed every guest a delicious dinner, and gave each senior a personal gift. That kind of partnership means everything to us.

Congratulations to our graduates. We're proud of you!🎓

This National Volunteer Month, a team from HCA Healthcare spent the day helping us completely transform our storage room—and the impact will last well beyond that one afternoon.

They emptied the entire space, sorted through years of accumulated supplies (including a few long-forgotten finds), and put everything back in a way that's intuitive and easy to navigate. What once felt like a maze is now organized, accessible, and already supporting our day-to-day work.

This was a project our LMV team simply didn't have the bandwidth to tackle, despite knowing how much it was needed. Thanks to HCA's effort, we're saving time, avoiding duplicate purchases, and making smarter use of the resources we already have—and the momentum is already spreading to the rest of the office.

We're so grateful to Healthcare for making opportunities like this possible, to Greger Petersen for coordinating, and to each volunteer who gave their time and energy to serve our Village!

We’re live tonight from our Journey Showcase 🎉

Journey is our high school program, where students receive academic support, mentorship, and space to grow. Tonight, they’re sharing music, art, and performances they’ve been working on this semester.

We’re glad you’re here—thanks for being part of the Village.

What does social media feel like to students right now? Our Journey students in Smyrna answered through art 🎨

This week, they created artwork for a student exhibit on social media and online safety. Each piece reflects their own perspective—what they see, experience, and want others to understand.

Their work will be part of a student exhibit opening April 25 that is organized by Rutherford County Schools and Wired Human.

Today, our citizenship students visited the Tennessee State Capitol!

They observed both the House and Senate chambers, walked through the Capitol, and spent time in the offices where legislators work during the spring session.

It was a meaningful opportunity to connect what they’ve been studying with the real processes and people behind it.

We’re grateful to Sen. Jeff Yarbro and Senator Charlane Oliver for their time and hospitality—it meant a great deal for our students to meet those representing their district and a neighboring one.
