Established in 2010, we are the chapter of the Modern Quilters’ Guild of the Greater Nashville area.

Our June meeting will be at a NEW location, the Pruitt branch of the NPL! We will be doing a rope bowl tutorial—guild will provide materials, you need to bring machine with a zigzag stitch. (There are more instructions on our newsletter—link in bio)

Our April Guild Meeting will be Saturday April 18th at 10:30 AM at the EAST branch of the Nashville public library. This is a NEW location for us! We’ll do guild business, show and tell, and we’ll have a chat all about batting! Bring quilts with different batting types to show off!

Join us for our first meeting of 2026! It will be Saturday January 17 at 10:30 AM at the Southeast Branch of the NPL. In addition to planning for the year, we’ll do show and tell and open sew! This location is good for machines!

We’ll have light snacks, but feel free to bring a snack to share or hoard!

It’s almost time for our 2025 Holiday Party! Come prepared to participate in Dirty Santa (at least 1 Yard of good quality quilting cotton, 4 FQs, etc.) and sign-up for the Potluck! Full details on both in the newsletter (link in bio.)

Hey ladies, Jennifer here. I am a volunteer at a women DV group home here in Murfreesboro. We recently collected gifts for the kids living there for Christmas. We want to put together a Christmas basket of items for the women. I was wondering if any of you have any quilts hanging around (new or used) that you would be willing to donate for the basket? There are 14 women in this home. I would appreciate anything you are willing to part with! Comment below if you are able and I can DM you to pick up or you can bring them to the holiday party!

Our November guild meeting will be November 15, 10:30 AM – 1 PM
at the GREEN HILLS LIBRARY

This meeting will be our last open sew of the year—handwork is recommended. We’ll do Show and Tell, Guild Business, and Open Sew.
If you did a quilt coat in 2025, bring it to show it off!

Our fall Members retreat will be on Saturday October 18 in Spring Hill. An email will be sent to members soon with more details. Come prepped for a day of sewing (or yapping 😂)

Super fun September guild meeting to work on our community quilt for Mill Ridge Park! This special project was made with clothes that belonged to one of the park’s donors and with fabric dyed with natural ingredients like those grown in the park. Incredibly cool and special! Thanks for hosting us this spring and for this opportunity!

Thanks also to the Frist for allowing us to use their space in conjunction with the Fabric of the Nation show!

Our September Guild Meeting will be held at the Frist! It will be light on meeting, but dedicated mostly to working on our community quilt for Mill Ridge Park. Unlike years past, this is not for the MQG community quilt, but it’s for a local Nashville park, Mill Ridge Park! In April, we took a fabric-dyeing workshop there and this month, we will be working on our quilt for them!

Community Quilt 2025

We each will be working on a 12-inch square (finished) from materials from the park (clothes from the park’s donor and hand-dyed fabrics).

Parking: Park in the visitor’s lot—the Frist will provide vouchers for our parking!

What to Bring: Sewing machine, Thread, Extension Cord, scrappy fabrics that will coordinate with the fabrics. We’ll post the fabrics in another post!

Thanks to those of you that joined us at either Stitcher’s Garden or (and) Tailgate Brewery South today! A fun field trip for our August Guild Meeting!
