🏁MOVE YOUR SIX -> A Virtual 5K!
You don’t have to be in the same place to move for the same purpose.

Move Your Six for kids + young adults who are in or have experienced foster care!

A virtual 5K means there’s no starting line to find + no race location to travel to. You choose where and how you complete your 3.1 miles.
Walk it. Run it. Hike it. Bike it. Hit the treadmill. Grab your family, your friends, your church, or your coworkers and make it your own.

HOW IT WORKS
1. REGISTER BY OCT 23 (TO RECEIVE SHIRTS IN THE MAIL ON TIME)
Sign up online and choose your T-shirt size.
2. CHECK YOUR MAIL
We’ll send your official Move Your Six event T-shirt directly to you before the event.
3. MOVE YOUR SIX
On event weekend, put on your shirt and complete 3.1 miles wherever you are. Around your neighborhood, at your favorite park, on a treadmill, or even while exploring a new trail, it all counts!
4. SHOW US
Take pictures along the way + share them with us on social media by tagging us and using . We want to see foster care supporters moving all over!

🚗 Learning to drive. Sharing a meal. Building independence.

Last week, we spent time with young adults who have aged out of foster care through driving lessons and mentor lunches.

These may seem like ordinary moments, but they matter. Learning to drive can mean getting to work, making it to appointments, and having more independence. Sitting down for lunch with a mentor means having someone to talk to, ask questions, and simply do life with.

At GYSix, we believe support shouldn’t end when foster care does. Sometimes “we’ve got your six” looks like teaching a life skill. Sometimes it looks like grabbing lunch. Most importantly, it looks like showing up consistently. 🖤

It’s 25yrs later and we still remember. We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who ran toward danger to help others.

Today, we’re reminded that in the hardest moments, we need each other.
Don’t let people around you face the hard things alone. Be someone who will stand in and have their six.

But nurturing a child is about more than meeting needs. It’s about creating belonging, building confidence, making memories, and surrounding them with people who believe in them.
