🚀 Exciting News! 🚀 EEOG's 2nd Annual Career Speed Networking Program at Lane College was a HIT! 🌟
Approximately 230 High school students from four incredible districts - Hardeman County, Haywood County, Lauderdale County, and Jackson Madison County - joined us at Lane College for a day of inspiration, learning, and empowerment. 🎓✨
🌟 Keynote Speaker Kimberly J. Bandy, a distinguished United States Department of Homeland Security representative, graced the occasion as the keynote speaker. With a background as an HBCU graduate, Kimberly plays a vital role in the Department's Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties division, ensuring the protection of civil rights and liberties within the department's activities. Her message revolved around the four quarters of life: GROW, ACHIEVE, BECOMING, and HARVESTING, emphasizing personal and professional growth at different life stages.
📚 The Education Equal Opportunity Group (EEOG) provided essential tools: college resources, mentorship, and career readiness strategies. Together with our amazing corporate sponsors - Lane College, BlueOval SK, West Tennessee Healthcare, City of Brownsville Mayor Williams Rawls Office, 100 Black Men of West Tennessee, Wells Fargo, CoreCivic, Bank of Ripley, Bank of Tipton, Georgia-Pacific, MIG Steel Fabrication, LLC, Cracker Barrel, Cracker Barrel Catering, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), Pilot Company, and Tom Black, Author of "The Boxcar Millionaire."
