J.I. Allison named Sixth Member of Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Class of 2026!

“What an honor it is to have J.I. Allison join this year’s class,” says [Rich] Hallworth. “His body of work as both a songwriter and an artist continues to endure through classics like ‘That’ll Be The Day,’ ‘Peggy Sue,’ and ‘More Than I Can Say.’ He’s a member of two halls of fame already, and we’re proud to soon welcome him into ours.”

Nashville friends: "THE SONGWRITERS" TV SHOW returns this weekend! You can see us SATURDAY NIGHTS at 10:00 p.m. on Nashville PBS (WNPT) or online at https://www.pbs.org/show/the-songwriters/.

Kicking off our new season this Saturday, Sept. 5, is the legendary JIMMY WEBB (Class of 1990), who discusses his career with series host Ken Paulson.

We have this bumper sticker in our house. Carol Ann salvaged it a few years ago. It’s the one Keith Urban affixed to the lectern at the Music City Center on Oct. 11, 2023, as he began his NaSHOF acceptance speech. Among those he thanked that night was fellow NaSHOF member Dolly Parton, who only moments before had presented him with our Manny statuette. It was the first time in years that Dolly had joined us for the Gala. She was beautiful, elegant, funny, simply magnetic. When the crowd spied her waiting in the wings, a whispered wave of “Dolly’s here!” surfed across the ballroom, and people instantly leapt to their feet. An undeniable icon walked among us for a time. Thank you, Dolly. WE will always love YOU.
