My goal is to ensure our junior officers have a strong voice in the decisions that impact their readiness, professional development, and overall welfare. By collaborating with fellow leaders on the Board, I want to foster a culture of shared support and engagement that empowers our National Guard community to thrive both on and off duty.”

🔥🚁 : Tennessee Guard Answering the Call

Looking back at a mission where the Tennessee Army National Guard put its aviation capabilities to work supporting wildfire response in Polk County.

At the request of the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters from Knoxville’s 1-230th Assault Helicopter Battalion launched from McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base to help combat wildfires near Turtletown, close to the North Carolina border.

Equipped with Bambi Buckets capable of delivering hundreds of gallons of water, the crews focused on areas of rugged terrain that were difficult for ground firefighters to reach.

From the air and on the ground, Tennessee Guardsmen stand ready to support their communities when called upon. 🫡
