Unscripted

Directions Website Contact the organization

We heal, empower, and connect the community through improv.

Unscripted was born from the desire of Nashville’s Third Coast Comedy Club co-founders Luke Watson and Scott Field to serve the community beyond performances in the club’s theater. Emma Supica, an improviser and nonprofit arts educator in the community, signed on to serve as founding director of an organization which could deliver this vision. Supica dedicated her master’s thesis to learn more about the impact of improv as a tool, and set out to build Unscripted. We are...

-professional improvisers, people who have never improvised, and all those in between
-a community that knows life can be messy, unplanned, and unpredictable
-open and accessible to as much of the community as possible
-always learning more about the deeply rich practice of improv
-yes, and anything

“Thank you for changing my life!”

“This is the most I’ve laughed in years!”

“Your kindness and obvious joy in our efforts and progress made it an even more enjoyable experience.”

We’re proud of the feedback we get from our programming with older adults. Improv creates a unique space for developing social bonds, improving neuroplasticity and engaging the imagination. Unscripted’s focus on accessible practices and group empowerment have yielded class after class of enthusiastic new improvisers.

Improv for Anxiety IN PERSON starts tomorrow night (9/2)! ONLINE starts next week!

Mike Garvin talks about manufacturing pressure on himself and how focusing on the present moment can be transformative. All the moment wants is your presence, not a polished performance. Mike along with Elizabeth Baum will be facilitating our online class starting on Sat 9/12

Only 2 spots left for in-person, led by Anne Veal and Lily Catalano! Wednesdays 7-9pm from Sept 2 - Oct 7

We’ve got a handful of spots left online - and you can take it from anywhere. We’ve had students across the world engage with our online programming, so check your local time zone to see if this class works for you!
