Are you a Tennessee Youth In Government alum who lives in Washington, D.C.? Join us at the annual Youth Governor’s Conference pinning ceremony and alumni dinner on June 10th on Capitol Hill! Space is limited so RSVP as soon as possible at ymca.quorum.us/event/23453/ . RSVP required to attend.

The YMCA Youth Governors Conference, hosted by YMCA of the USA, has been held annually for nearly 75 years. The five-day conference, sponsored by the MissionSquare Foundation, is modeled after the National Governors Association and engages more than 40 teens from across the country who serve as the Youth Governor of their state program. YMCA Youth and Government is a national program that impacts nearly 50,000 teens annually, empowering them to learn about—and experience—government policies and methodologies firsthand.

This year’s conference theme is Leadership in Action and while in D.C., students will spend a day volunteering at community organizations and throughout the week participate in breakout sessions about leadership, building civic bridges and connected communities, collaboration, and advocacy. A highlight of the week is the Alumni Dinner on Capitol Hill where Youth Governors are welcomed by a Congressional leader and have an opportunity to connect with alumni working in D.C.

Mesa Associates, Inc. is proud to announce our donation of $4,000 to the Tennessee YMCA Center For Civic Engagement in Nashville, TN. The YMCA Center for Civic Engagement is a statewide development & program designed to allow students ages 11-19 to experience the processes of government in a hands-on way. Each year, CCE programs reach almost 7,000 middle and high school students across the state.

At Mesa, we believe in corporate responsibility and giving back to the communities we serve. One of the ways Mesa demonstrates this responsibility is through our Giveback Program, which reinvests a portion of our profits back into the local communities through charities and nonprofit organizations. These organizations are chosen via committee with the goal of being fair, diverse, and impactful. We are proud and blessed to support these organizations and to be afforded the opportunity to pay it forward. Join us in making a difference!

We’re missing that mountain air already… Who else is having post-CONA-depression?😪

The Tennessee delegation came back from the 2023 Conference on National Affairs with lots to celebrate - we had 4 proposals advance to GA, Will Severn was named a Distinguished Delegate, and our own Yao Xiao was selected as a Presiding Officer alternate! This crew worked so hard in the months leading up to the conference, and it definitely paid off.

We are STILL exhausted from that amazing week at Blue Ridge —> see the last slide for proof 😴🥱
