Thanks to the fabulous group of students from Father Ryan who helped us on Tuesday, October 7. They planted beans, Swiss Chard and lettuce, added wood chips where needed and also lined and added soil to a couple of raised beds that were displaced when the French drain was installed. A smart group with a great attitude for serving!

WE NEED LEAVES!

Fall leaves are garden gold, and BELL Garden can put yours to good use!

We use fall leaves to:
Build healthy soil
Make compost
Add organic matter to our garden beds
Protect the soil over winter
Reduce weeds and conserve moisture

What we need:
• Clean, untreated leaves
• Bagged leaves are easiest for us to handle
• Please no trash, sticks, pet waste, or chemically treated yard debris

1,409 Pounds Donated in 2026!

This week, BELL Garden donated 72 pounds of fresh tomatoes, peppers, and okra:

47 pounds — Bellevue Community Food Bank
25 pounds — NeighborStand at Trevecca

Our 2026 donation total is now 1,409 pounds—already 284 pounds more than we donated during all of 2025!

Every pound represents seeds planted, beds tended, produce harvested, and volunteers working together to provide fresh, locally grown food to our neighbors.

Thank you to everyone who helps us grow, harvest, and share!

Thanks goes to Quest Diagnostics who helped in the garden today weeding, spreading wood chips and harvesting our volunteer gourds that were planted by the birds! Along with these volunteers, our bi-monthly Currey Ingram students came and harvested huckleberries and began sorting and organizing our containers for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, BMS students continued to volunteer during their PE time. The 7th graders processed flower seeds, cut back catnip to dry and spread pine needles under our hydrangeas and the 6th graders prepared the jars for our Farmers Market flower bouquets and cut back/harvested the Swiss Chard for the food bank and chickens!!!

Fall leaves are garden gold, and BELL Garden can put yours to good use!

We’ve Surpassed Our Entire 2025 Donation Total!

This week, BELL Garden donated 121 pounds of fresh okra, tomatoes, and sweet peppers:

51 pounds — Bellevue Community Food Bank
37 pounds — NeighborStand at Trevecca
33 pounds — ENP–Edgehill Neighborhood Partnership

This brings our 2026 total to 1,337 pounds—already 212 pounds more than we donated during all of 2025!

Every pound represents seeds planted, beds tended, produce harvested, and volunteers working together to provide fresh, locally grown food to our neighbors.

Thank you to everyone who helps us grow, harvest, and share. We’re excited to see how much more good we can grow before the season ends!

Come see us Saturday from 9 am - 12 noon at our Farm Stand for freshly picked tomatoes, sweet peppers, okra, and more. And we will have our huge selection of freshly made pestos, salsa, canned jams, mint and pepper jelly and sourdough bread. Our Farm Stand will be in our portable. New this week - Tomato-Basil Compound Butter, Cherry Tomato Butter and Fig Jam!

We are located at 655 Colice Jeanne Rd. behind Bellevue Middle School - the far right corner. Turn at our wooden sign (before the school) and head down the drive that is marked ‘do not enter’ - this is only for when school is in session. Look for our green portable with our BELL Garden logo at the end of the drive.
