Happy National Zookeeper Week to all of our wonderful Zookeepers from Nashville AAZK! From the large to the small, our keepers care for it all!

From the endless dedication, through snow, rain, heat, and the occasional tornado, to the late nights and early mornings, and everywhere in between, thank you for all that you do and how you advocate for our animals.

There's no time to monkey around---the Primate Team is here! These lovely keepers work with everything from lemurs to siamangs, meerkats to spider monkeys, plus the world's best armadillo (we're biased)!

Join us in celebrating our zookeepers this week!

Today we SHELLabrate our TURTLEY awesome Herpetology team! From frogs to snakes to lizards to crocodilians to actual dragons, the Herpetology team does it all! And of course, they are heavily involved in local conservation such as our Hellbenders, Alligator snapping turtles, and our Eastern box turtle monitoring program!

Our Herpetology team is off the SCALE!

With arguably the best hair in the zoo, it's the Life Support Systems Team! On top of making sure all of our water systems around the entire zoo function, they also care for our Koi and Alligator!

It's our o-pinion that our Bird Team is the best there is! From flamingos to Cassowary to macaws to songbirds, the Bird Team cares for all (even one sloth!). Not to mention, they are heavily involved in native songbird conservation!
