WELCOME TO PINES | MANUEL “MANNY” SILVA

Pines is proud to officially welcome Manuel “Manny” Silva to our organization.

Beginning this spring, Manny will take over Pines pitching development throughout our organization. He will also be available for private one-on-one pitching lessons.

Manny began his coaching career in 2022 as a volunteer at Atkinson County High School. He then spent two seasons at Citizens Christian Academy as the pitching coach, where he was part of the 2025 GIAA Class A State Championship team.

His coaching experience also includes PennWest Clarion at the NCAA Division II level, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters of the Northwoods League, and service as the inaugural pitching coach for the Richmond Flying Mummies in 2026. Most recently, Manny spent the fall coaching at Chattanooga State Community College at the NJCAA Division I level.

As a player, Manny attended Concord University from 2018–2019 before continuing his career in independent and international baseball from 2021–2025. His playing experience included the Mavericks League and the Baseball WA Winter League in Australia.

Those experiences across high school, collegiate, summer-league, independent, and international baseball have shaped Manny’s understanding of pitching, development, preparation, and leadership. We are excited for him to invest that experience into Pines athletes and help build a consistent pitching-development system throughout our organization.

At Pines, development is about more than mechanics, velocity, or results. We want coaches who will teach the game, lead with purpose, hold players accountable, and invest in the young men entrusted to them. Manny’s experience and commitment to development make him a valuable addition to what God is building through Pines.

“As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” — Proverbs 27:17 NKJV

✝️ PINES DAILY WORD | HEBREWS 4:16

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Because Jesus is our great High Priest, we do not have to hide from God when we fail or struggle. Through Christ, we can approach God with confidence—not because we are good enough, but because Jesus finished the work required to bring us near.

At the throne of grace, we find mercy for our sin and grace for our present need. Bring God the pressure, temptation, fear and weakness you have been carrying.

You are not interrupting Him. He is inviting you.

✝️ PINES DAILY WORD | LUKE 5:32

“I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Jesus did not come to congratulate people who believe they have no need for Him. He came to call sinners—people like us—to turn from sin and trust Him.

Repentance is more than feeling bad about getting caught. It is agreeing with God, turning around and placing our faith in Jesus. At the cross, Christ paid the price for our sin. Through His resurrection, He offers forgiveness and new life.

Stop defending what Jesus is calling you to surrender. Turn back and come home to Him.

What needs to change direction in your life today?

✝️ PINES DAILY WORD | 2 TIMOTHY 2:13

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.”

Our failures do not change the character of Jesus. He remains holy, true and faithful in every season.

His faithfulness does not give us permission to stay in sin. It gives us a firm place to return through repentance. The cross proves His love, and the empty tomb proves His power to save.

Begin this week anchored in who Christ is. When your strength fails, trust His. When you wander, turn back. When life changes, remember that Jesus remains faithful.

✝️ Jesus is the mission. Pines is the platform.

✝️ PINES DAILY WORD | PHILIPPIANS 2:11

“and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Jesus humbled Himself, came near to sinners and became obedient to the point of death on the cross. God raised Him from the grave and highly exalted Him.

He is worthy of more than a place somewhere in our schedule. Jesus is Lord over our worship, relationships, decisions, ambitions and future.

As we gather today, lift your voice and bow your heart. Confess the name above every name: Jesus Christ is Lord.

✝️ Jesus is the mission. Pines is the platform.

✝️ PINES DAILY WORD | JOHN 1:5

“And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

Darkness is real, but it does not get the final word.

Jesus entered a world darkened by sin. He carried our sin to the cross, entered the darkness of the grave and rose in victory. Death could not hold Him, and darkness could not extinguish His light.

When shame, grief, temptation or fear closes in, turn toward Jesus. His truth exposes what needs to change, His grace brings forgiveness and His presence leads us forward.

The Light still shines.

✝️ Jesus is the mission. Pines is the platform.

✝️ PINES DAILY WORD | TITUS 2:11

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,”

God’s grace is not an idea. Grace appeared in the person of Jesus Christ.

We could never perform well enough to erase our sin or make ourselves right with God. Jesus came to us, lived without sin, died in our place and rose again. Salvation is received through faith in Him.

That grace forgives us, then changes us. It teaches us to turn from sin and live for the One who saved us.

Stop trying to earn what Jesus offers as a gift. Receive His grace and let it shape your life.

✝️ Jesus is the mission. Pines is the platform.

✝️PINES DAILY WORD | MATTHEW 16:24

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.’”

Jesus calls us to more than admiration. He calls us to follow Him.

Following Jesus means laying down pride, selfish ambition and the need to control everything. We do not earn salvation through sacrifice. Jesus carried the cross that saved us, and those who receive His grace learn to surrender their lives to His leadership.

Follow Him at practice. Follow Him at school. Follow Him when obedience costs you something.

What part of your life needs to come under Jesus’ leadership today?

✝️ Jesus is the mission. Pines is the platform.
