At the Urban League of Middle Tennessee, we know that supporting Black-owned businesses means supporting jobs, families, neighborhoods, and the long-term economic health of our community. It also means continuing to address the barriers to capital, resources and opportunity that too many entrepreneurs still face.

Urban League of Middle Tennessee Next Level graduate Oye Coffee recently announced that its coffee line is now available in all 62 Publix stores across Tennessee. Owned by brothers Jonathan and Christopher Oye, the brand was launched in 2021 to celebrate their West African heritage and to help them stay connected with their overseas relatives. Jonathan and Christopher have seen the success of the company skyrocket as their products have been introduced to more and more coffee consumers.

Members of the Urban League of Middle Tennessee (ULMT) Guild were recognized for their outstanding work during the 2026 National Urban League conference, recently hosted by ULMT. The Guild won a first-place award for its fundraising efforts on behalf of ULMT and a third-place award for its community engagement work.

We thank Guild sponsors AARP, Bartholomews Episcopal Church, and Nehemiah Missionary Baptist Church for their investment in the work of Urban League’s Guild members.
