A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers from HCA Healthcare for spending a recent afternoon at our Woodmont campus.

Their hard work helped support our Girls Inc. at YWCA Nashville program in meaningful ways—from organizing camp supplies and preparing materials for summer activities to setting up iPads for our annual Girls Inc. survey. These behind-the-scenes projects make a big impact and help ensure our girls have the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive.

We are so grateful for community partners like HCA Healthcare who invest their time and talents to empower the next generation of strong, smart, and bold leaders. Thank you for making a difference!

We’re thrilled to share that we’ve been awarded an Animal Welfare grant from Community Foundation Mid TN ! This support helps fuel our mission at Abbie’s Safe Home, our pet shelter on the campus of the Weaver Domestic Violence Center for victims fleeing abusive homes. This funding enables us to provide care, resources, and support for animals and the people who love them.

Thank you to Metro Council Members Jordan Huffman and Erin Evans for taking time last week to tour our Weaver Domestic Violence Center & Abbie’s Safe Home pet shelter and learn more about the lifesaving services provided to survivors and their children in our community.

Today, we were also proud to join fellow Nashville victim service providers, alongside Sean Henry, CEO of the Nashville Predators and President & CEO of Bridgestone Arena — a longtime supporter of YWCA and our AMEND Together program — to discuss ways we can continue raising awareness about the critical work happening across Nashville to support victims, survivors, and families in need.

We are grateful for leaders and community partners who are committed to listening, learning, and using their voices to help make Nashville safer for everyone.

If you or someone you know is in need of shelter or support, call our 24-Hour Crisis & Support Helpline 800-334-4628 or text 615-983-5170.

Tennessee showed up for survivors this week on Capitol Hill. 💜🩵

As part of the & Advocacy Days, YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee was proud to join the and our sister program from Cleveland, TN, in Washington, D.C. to meet with lawmakers about the critical need to continue funding life-saving services for survivors of domestic violence.

Together, we shared about the work happening every day on the front lines to keep women, children, and families safe from abuse — and why protecting these essential community resources must remain a priority.

We are especially grateful for in-person meetings with newly elected Congressman Matt Van Epps, Congressman Chuck Fleischmann — who stepped away from committee meetings to speak with our group — and Senator Marsha Blackburn, sponsor of the SALONS Stories Act.

Advocacy matters. Funding matters. Survivor safety matters.

Thank you to our elected leaders for listening, engaging, and standing with survivors across Tennessee.

A heartfelt thank you to Tracey Henry for treating the women and children staying safe and healing at YWCA’s Weaver Domestic Violence Center to a wonderful First Friday meal. ❤️

The delicious spread included Mexican chicken casserole, fresh salad, black bean casserole for our vegetarian residents, and homemade brownies that will make the evening extra special. This monthly homemade meal brings comfort, care, and a sense of community to families during a difficult time.

Our Sr. Director of Community Engagement, Cade Fleming, was grateful to accept and deliver the meal to residents. Thank you, Tracey, for sharing your generosity and helping create moments of warmth and hope for the families we serve.
