A huge shoutout to our friends at Cooper Steel for returning to our Weaver Domestic Violence Center, working their magic, and having a ball! ⚽️ 🏀This incredible volunteer team has been alongside us throughout the emergency shelter’s renovations, and having them back to help us organize and prepare for our ribbon-cutting feels like the perfect full-circle moment.

Thank you, Cooper Steel , for showing up, pitching in, and continuing to invest in our Weaver Center and the families we serve. We’re so grateful for you!

Join us next week as a new season of our Stand Against Injustice education series kicks off. We’re discussing housing access in Nashville with a panel of local experts and leaders.

Matt Wiltshire is President of the Pathway Housing Fund and Senior Vice President of Affordable Housing at Pathway Lending, a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution based in Nashville.

Through the Pathway Housing Fund, Matt helps acquire naturally occurring affordable housing properties in Tennessee that are in the path of gentrification, preserving them as affordable for the long term.

His perspective will help us explore why preserving the affordable housing Nashville already has is essential to building a city where more people can stay.

Huge thanks to Nashville Department of Transportation and Metro Historical Commission for making sure our history is not forgotten! A delivery truck took out the original marker that was erected in 2022 at the intersection of 17th Ave. North and Pearl Street where the Nashville Blue Triangle Branch once stood. YWCAs were segregated in the Jim Crow South, and Blue Triangle branches were established for African American women. Our local branch flourished, brining safe housing, employment services, and social programs to the community. Julia Sutherland is Executive Director of The Village at Glencliff, a nonprofit tiny-home medical respite community supporting unhoused Nashvillians after hospital discharge.

Through partnerships with more than 40 healthcare and nonprofit organizations, The Village at Glencliff coordinates healthcare, social benefits, and housing support for residents as they move toward permanent housing.

Julia’s work sits at the intersection of housing and healthcare, reminding us that healing is much harder without a safe place to land.

Remembering Martha Rivers Ingram, a longtime patron of the arts, education, and nonprofit community. We were honored to induct her into the Academy for Women of Achievement (AWA) in 1993. Her leadership, generosity, and commitment to our community left an extraordinary legacy. We are grateful for the many ways she helped Nashville—and so many organizations—grow and thrive. We extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends.
