CASA Nashville Training and supervising volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in Nashville.

The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program came to Nashville in 1983 when it was established by the Junior League of Nashville and the local chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women. Together, these organizations provided start-up funding and formed the first steering committee. CASA Nashville was the first of 26 local CASA programs serving 45 counties across Tennessee. CASA Nashv

ille's main objective is to recruit and train community volunteers who will advocate on behalf of children caught in the court system due to abuse and neglect. After training, volunteer advocates are appointed to cases by judges, expediting the process through which the abused and neglected children we serve are placed in safe and permanent homes. Advocates exclusively focus on the needs of the child or children on their case and express these needs and the child’s point of view in court. Our volunteers’ commitment to and knowledge of their cases helps to provide judges with the information necessary to make tough decisions.

Construction on the Nashville Youth Campus for Empowerment (NYCE) continues to move forward, and we’re getting closer to calling this incredible space home!

NYCE will bring organizations serving children and families together under one roof, creating more opportunities for collaboration and making it easier for families to access the support they need.

✨ Meet Skyler, our new intern from Belmont University! ✨

Skyler is a senior pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Originally from Franklin, Tennessee, she is passionate about supporting children and families and hopes to build a career in child welfare. 💙

She brings experience working with youth in residential care, campus leadership, and community advocacy. We’re so excited to have her on the CASA Nashville team!

When she’s not working or studying, you can find Skyler hiking with her mini Aussie, Jack 🐾, exploring waterfalls, reading at local coffee shops, or thrifting around Nashville. ☕📚
