Much of what officers do happens quietly and without recognition, but its impact is felt in every safe neighborhood and every family that rests a little easier. We see your commitment, and we are grateful for it.

More than 30 law enforcement agencies from across the United States and Canada recently gathered in Redmond for the annual North American Motor Officers Association conference.

Throughout the week, motorcycle officers trained through demanding riding exercises and precision courses designed to prepare them for the real-world conditions they face while serving their communities every day.

The event concluded with friendly competition showcasing the skill, discipline, and professionalism of motor officers from across the region.

Training like this helps ensure officers stay sharp, safe, and ready for anything on the road.

When an emergency unfolded near GKN Aerospace in Stanton, thousands of residents were forced to evacuate as reports of a cracked chemical tank triggered a large-scale response and state of emergency.

Local police officers and emergency crews worked quickly and continuously to direct evacuations, secure the area, and keep residents safe during the unfolding situation.
Amid the fear and uncertainty, first responders remained steady on scene, providing reassurance and protecting the community throughout the incident.

Moments like these highlight the reality of emergency response: calm leadership in the middle of chaos and commitment to public safety when it matters most.

The classroom became the front line of public safety this week at the Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center.

Criminal justice students had the opportunity to learn directly from professionals serving in specialized law enforcement roles, including ATF Task Force Officer Darren Harmon, the Evansville Police Department Bomb Squad, and the department’s Drone Team.

From gun crime investigations and interagency partnerships to bomb squad demonstrations and drone technology, students received a firsthand look at the many career paths within modern law enforcement.

One student even suited up in a full bomb suit during the hands-on demonstrations.
Experiences like these help inspire the next generation of public safety professionals and give students a deeper understanding of the work being done to protect their communities every day.
