It has been our ongoing goal to send as many ministers on the Holy Land Pilgrimage as possible each year. We have two different funds to make this happen. One is our Endowment Fund; the other, is our "active" fund.
The Endowment Fund is funded by our Holy Land Pilgrimage Jewel program, and by private contributions and Social Media fundraising. Until our HLP Endowment is completely funded, it CAN NOT be utilized annually.
Therefore, we currently rely on the "active" fund to support the cost of our Pilgrim Ministers journey. This is funded solely by the donations made throughout the year, and is primarily generated by money collected during inspections and festivals as well as individual donations. We had hoped to be able to send two ministers each year through the contributions received for this fund.
I regret to inform you that, currently, we do not have enough funds in our "active" account to even send one minister to the upcoming excursion. That being said, I humbly plea to each of our respective members to look for ways to generate funds for this project. Then, contact local businesses, civic organizations, and especially churches for potential private donors. Consider utilizing social media such as Facebook for charitable activities like birthday fundraiser. Additionally, we need to try to have some type of fundraiser activity, so that we may continue to support this great ministry. And remember... we ARE an approved 501c3 charity, so all donations are tax deductible.
