What does healing look like when we make space for identity, creativity, and community? Join Black Mental Health Village for our upcoming Healing-Centered Community Engagement Meeting: “What a Drag: Exploration & Healing Through Q***r Art.”

Led by Geoffrey Hervey, M.Ed., M.Psy., Psy.D., Postdoctoral Therapist and BMHV Chairperson, this presentation and community conversation will explore the intersections of q***r art, identity, expression, mental health, and healing. Together, we’ll create space to learn, reflect, engage in meaningful conversation, and consider how art can become a powerful tool for connection, self-expression, and healing.

Come curious. Come as you are. Come ready to explore what healing can look like through art and community.

Have you noticed our rebrand?

Black Mental Health Village is celebrating 5 years of community impact with a fresh look, a new logo, and the same mission you’ve supported from the start.

To every individual, organization, and community partner who has been part of our journey: THANK YOU! Your support has helped shape this village, and we’re grateful to keep growing with you.

A special shoutout to our incredible Design Director, Jake Espinal, who led the creation of our new brand and logo. Thank you for bringing this next chapter to life!

New look. Same mission. A future that’s looking brighter than ever. 💛

Your story is worth putting into words. Your voice is worth being heard.

BeWell, Black Mental Health Village, and Color The Future are creating another intentional space for creativity, reflection, and connection—this time through the power of songwriting with Domini Norris. ✍🏾

Join us for a workshop where you’ll have the opportunity to:
1.) Explore your story through songwriting
2.) Turn thoughts, feelings, and experiences into lyrics
3.) Tap into your creativity and find your unique voice
4.) Reflect, express, and create in a supportive environment
5.) Connect with others through the shared power of storytelling

No need to consider yourself a “songwriter.” No perfect lyrics required. Just bring yourself, your experiences, and an open mind.

Come create with us. RSVP on our website! www.bmhv.org/events

We had an incredible time celebrating connection, laughter, and joy with our community at the 2nd Annual Nana’s Circle Family Fun Day!

A heartfelt thank-you to the amazing partners who continue to stand with our community and help reshape the narrative of North Nashville, from one focused on deficits to one that recognizes our strengths, assets, brilliance, and resilience.

Watch the recap video to relive some of the special moments!
