Oh Cabot!! You were the best or the best, my friend. We will truly miss you so much!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our longtime friend Cabot Pitts.

Cabot was a respected Alaska registered guide, owner of Alaska Wild Wind Adventures, and President of the Alaska Professional Hunters Association. He loved his fellow Alaska hunters and gave so much of himself to the profession, to conservation, and to keeping our hunting traditions strong for the next generation.
The Alaska’s wilderness and the guiding profession are sometimes unforgiving. Cabot understood that better than most. He still chose that life, because he loved this place, the wildlife, and the hunters who come here to fulfill their dreams.

Cabot was a wonderful father and husband. Our thoughts are with Cabot’s family, his friends, and the entire APHA community. He will be deeply missed.
Rest in peace, Cabot.

Great news!

This is a HUGE WIN for hunters in the Empire State and for sustainable-use wildlife conservation worldwide!

For the 11th straight year, New York legislators attempted to restrict the legal importation of harvested African species from the countries with the largest populations of these species in the world - and who rely on these species to support their well-managed conservation programs.

As always, SCI was quick to point out two facts:
🚨 Adoption of this legislation will undoubtedly have a negative impact on the actual conservation of these species.
🚨 These types of laws are unenforceable and preempted by federal law.

As New York never technically “adjourns,” SCI continues to be vigilant of any extraordinary sessions or state activity until the end of the year. SCI is !
