Nashville Foundation for Women of Color, Incorporated Charitable 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Organization, established in September 2007 by the late Lorraine W. G Major Programs:

+ Lorraine W. McBride.

Mission: Supporting programs and initiatives that assist women and girls of color in critical areas of need such as education, economic empowerment, health care and leadership development. Greene Community Engagement Forum which hosts town hall discussions to address community concerns.

+ Danita Marsh Scholarship Program, which supports female students of color pursuing degrees in criminal justi

ce and legal fields.

+ Women of Color P.O.W.E.R Luncheon (POWER = Promoting Opportunities for Women to Excel Resourcefully), partnership with Meharry Medical College. Women from the community attend the luncheon to listen to a short presentation from a prominent business executive or community leader and have the opportunity to ask questions they feel are relevant to achieving their next level of professional accomplishments. Topic areas such as leadership career development, money management and other resources that women need to excel in the modern workforce. Luncheon attendees will be encouraged to bring their business cards so that they can network with others at the luncheon.

+ Critical Thinker’s Art Soiree’ – Voice your opinion on a suggested topic in a nonjudgmental environment. Watch your conversation come to life in a live painting by Michael J. An Opportunity to network.
