Rick’s Run 2026 — what a day.
Such a fun morning on the farm! Runners, walkers, kids, animals, perfect weather… hard to beat!
Thank you to everyone who came out to run, stroll, cheer, and just hang out with us!
We especially loved having Dr. Rick and Patty Garman taking to the trails right along with us — their “yes” to open up their farm to Working Mission is what has allowed us to grow so quickly and impact so many, and it was really special to share the day with them.
And the best part? Days like this move us closer to our goal of growing and donating 100,000 pounds of fresh food to those in need in our community.
Pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, and a whole lot of good people — we’ll call that a win. 🐔

A full morning at the farm — and a really good one.
We kicked things off with a pancake breakfast in the barn, then got to work cutting 900 lbs of Yukon Gold seed potatoes — all getting ready to be planted this spring. With an amazing crew of volunteers, we finished in record time.
Even better, we took time to pray together over the potatoes and the coming harvest — asking that it would multiply and bless families across our community.
Afterward, we hopped on a hayride around the farm, hearing more from Billy and Dani about what’s ahead (and yes… we may have followed part of the Rick’s Run course 👀🏃‍♂️).
Grateful for mornings like this. Grateful for this community.
We’re expecting these potatoes to yield 9,000–10,000 lbs to go straight into our community and it all starts with days like today.

Rick’s Run is coming to the Working Mission Farm on 4.11.26 — a family-friendly 5K trail run and 1K stroll where you’ll literally be running with pigs, goats, sheep, and chickens cheering you on!

Named in honor of Dr. Rick and Patty Garman, whose generous “yes” opened their farm to this work two years ago, this run celebrates community, partnership, and fresh food for our neighbors. All to support our 2026 goal of growing and donating 100,000 pounds of food into the community!

Looking back with gratitude on all God did in 2025 — and looking ahead with hope for what He has in store in 2026. 🤍

This year was full of growth and meaningful moments. The addition of our LaVergne Conversational English time truly changed the dynamic of that group and deepened friendships in beautiful ways. We’re so thankful for the mentors who faithfully show up week after week in both LaVergne and Murfreesboro — your presence matters more than you know.

Our ESL classes finished strong, our citizenship classes continued to grow, and the farm had its biggest harvest yet, allowing us to serve our community with more food than ever before. Our Fall Festival was not only a successful fundraiser, but also a meaningful way for volunteers to jump in, serve, and be part of the mission.

As we look ahead, new classes begin January 20, and we’re excited for what’s next.

To every volunteer, supporter, mentor, and friend — thank you for another incredible year of serving together. We couldn’t do this without you, and we’re so grateful to walk into 2026 alongside you.
