Judge Seth Norman Recovery Foundation Judge Seth Norman Recovery Foundation (JSNRF)

Focusing on healing the whole person and strengthening our communities in Tennessee, our programs help residents identify behaviors that can lead to substance use disorders then implement a restorative approach to treatment and recovery. Residents learn to make positive changes in their lives through the support and guidance of fellow residents, staff members, and other community leaders all while giving back through community service.

✔️ In 2013, our founder Judge Seth Norman and our organization began a journey to Morgan County.

✔️ We collaborated with Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and Tennessee Department of Correction and

✔️ took a prison bootcamp and turned it into a Residential Recovery Court 🏡 .

✔️ specifically for men from recovery courts from across Tennessee.

➡️ 12 years later we have much to be grateful for ☀️.

Thank you Judge Mike Pemberton and the Morgan County Residential Recovery Court - MCRRC team and all who make our Men’s Residential Recovery Court happen.

Carrying the message at the 2025 MidSouth Addiction Conference ⬇️

In 2008, our organization’s founder and visionary the Late Judge Seth Norman had lunch with another and Susan O. Binns to discuss concerns about the of recovery housing.

✅ Tennessee Alliance of Recovery Residences 🏠 was born.

✅ Susan Binns understood lived experience.

✅ She was once a single mom with two children and a recovery program to focus on.

✅ She also understood the importance of being able to access the basics - food, shelter, safety, connection and community.

Certified Recovery Housing with nationally recognized standards became her purpose.

✅ Together with others she helped in creating the National Alliance for Recovery Residences responsible for the standard ⭐️🏠

Rest in peace Susan O. Binns

An agent of change that is Tennessee Alliance of Recovery Residences

Her passion and servant heart ensured that quality certified recovery housing with national standards and ethics IS available to those in need of this precious resource.

The founder of TN's self-policing organization for sober living houses, Binns was a blunt, loud voice for addicts, one with a wicked sense of humor. See link below ⬇️ bit.ly/4prbWKX
