NashvilleHealth

NashvilleHealth Creating a in Music City through open dialogue, aligning resources, & partnerships. We invite you to join us on this journey.

NashvilleHealth is a bold new initiative that creates a culture of health and wellbeing by serving as a convener to open dialogue, align resources and build smart strategic partnerships to forge a dynamic plan to improve the health of all Nashvillians. Nashville is a thriving, energetic city, and we are in the midst of an economic boom. Known as an “it” city, we have one of the highest rates of em

ployment growth of any large metropolis since the Great Recession. Additionally, with a $70+ billion healthcare services industry that includes 17 publicly traded companies, we are known globally as an innovative healthcare center. Unfortunately, the overall health of our own population is poor – which, left unaddressed, threatens our long-term vitality. Our brand as an attractive city is not sustainable if the health of our people continues to rank below peer cities. Founded by former Senator Majority Leader Bill Frist, MD, NashvilleHealth seeks to build a culture of health in Davidson County.

NashvilleHealth founder Senator Bill Frist, M.D Frist breaks down why addressing heat means looking at health, infrastructure and the people most at risk, then building solutions that help communities stay safer.

Measure it. Map it. Build for it.

In this post, created by the NashvilleHealth intern Caroline Cox, we examine Nashville’s ParkScore ranking, the progress our city has made and the opportunity ahead with Metro Nashville's updated Plan to Play 2026 to help more residents live within a 10-minute walk of a park.

Accessible parks encourage physical activity, strengthen community connections and provide spaces to enjoy nature. By continuing to invest in safe, welcoming and accessible green spaces, Nashville can build on its momentum and help create a healthier city for everyone.
